My second SCX10, a Honcho Well, I traded my vintage Sand Scorcher for a good condition SCX10 Honcho RTR. Standard 27turn Axial motor, AE2 ESC, high torque servo, Ripsaw tires, walker Evans rims... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psdfb52803.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps060dabaa.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0f0732d9.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps97ca3275.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8debb76c.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps72dc702d.jpg Mods to be done in the next week include: Install weight in the front wheels New links New steering links Raise the front bumper Move battery Mirror tranny More too come "thumbsup" |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Looks good. I'm liking the paint scheme. |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Any reason for the center piece outta your front bumper? |

Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Gotcha didn't know if you had a hidden winch in the works or something ! |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho I like your new project, I'm sure you'll make it look as nice as your CR01's. |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho looks like a short wheel base? is It? |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Not sure of the wheelbase, but it think it's standard. So I decided to start striping it down for a rebuild. Man this thing was dirty :lmao: http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps788c4a48.jpg Looks like someone tried to re-enforce the steering link. http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0dad4f92.jpg Looks like all the grease ran out of the tranny, full rebuild there... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps5688af0a.jpg More a little later... |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho I am planning to 4 link the front too, the 3 link is worn out badly. For the rebuild, I'll use the kit plastic links, but my mate will be making the links from aluminum. |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Started by striping down the front axle http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps2bbc1936.jpg Not going to bore you all, sure you've seen 100 Axial axle builds. But here is the completed axle with 4 link... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psda8b723c.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psfe2697a0.jpg Back on the recently cleaned chassis http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps7592bf85.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0f1addee.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psb32f3b09.jpg Next will be the rear axle, then the transmission... |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho I decided on making my own sides http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc603dc31.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps53c8f447.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps81a3ed5f.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps6fa47f0d.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psadbb72a4.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd35bf3f0.jpg And I also used the standard components to create my own chassis mounted servo steering http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps471d6f86.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps58bfd10f.jpg More later... |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho Well, this Honcho has gone too another home. Managed to sell it for good money. But not too worry, I bought another Honcho for cheap R1000 ($95) that needed a bit of work. Pics to follow shortly... |
Re: My second SCX10, a Honcho So this is how I got it... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps5cf6e607.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd861dedd.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psde8896f0.jpg It came with no wheels, 19 turn motor, Dynamite Tazer 10 turn ESC, no radio or receiver. First thing I did, was tear it down, rebuild the centre tranny and front and rear diffs, lastly, rebuilt the shocks. Next I replaced the 19 turn motor with the 550 motor that I took out of my Dingo. That motor had bags of torque so it found its way into the Honcho. Scratched around it my parts bin to find my old Flat Irons that I cut and removed 2 lugs, and glued them to a set of Tamiya Hummer rims. Seems to look right, will test the soon. Mounted the electronics on a plate I made from 2mm black styrene. This is the results... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...psdc601f7d.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps374df488.jpg http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps9bceda27.jpg Added some scale trash on the back, mainly because the rear cage was hacked in a bad way. Maybe I'll get a replacement in the future..."thumbsup" |
