Anyone else us Axial's Universal Light Bar on their Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited?

Hello all! I wish the roll cage on the Wrangler was a little more friendly for mounting this light bar. Axial Racing - Universal 5 Bucket Light Bar Set

I think it looks okay but I know it is a mile high!! LOL.

Any thoughts would be great. Oh and it is my girlfriends Jeep and she likes the oldschool round lights. If I had my choice it would be a Rigid but not my choice!! I just do the work.

just use the holes in the windshield down tubes and move it down with longer screws and spacers. Or drill new 3/32' holes in the down tubes.
or use the clamps that you are using on the top side.

Which holes in the down tubes? The lower ones? I think that might be too low. Not sure how I would use the light bar supports then? Have you done this before? Any pics?

I have cut and hacked on all sorts of Axial plastic cages. Nothing a 3/32" drill bit can fix. Let me do some searching. Standby....

Well, not an axial but I used the bar on my Twin Hammers and I have drilled on several axial cages. See this build. Szczerba's SCX-EXO

Anywho for the TH, I just held the bar to about where I wanted it and started drilling some new holes. You can put your bar on the inside of the down tubes if it is not wide enough and use small spacers to make up the light bar width.

Get creative and dont be scared to start drilling

I am scared because it isn't mine. My girl likes them where they are now, it is just me who thinks they are too high. Maybe I won't mess around too much more. The black body is our old test body. I have a brand new body and full cage set that I have to get cracking on. I bought the NVS LED controller and oh the joys of wiring that baby in!!

here is mine, I bought the light bar separate, no mounts, I used the left over mounts from my Exo kit, that why my support arms are to the center

Thanks for the pics. I wish I had some exo parts that is a neat mount. I have to do some minor dremeling if I want my lights pointed down slightly. Right now my lights lean back just a hair with my current mount set up. I am fairly happy.

well i guess im the only one who wanted a more prerunner/koh style look for my universal light bar, i loved it.

the side roll cage parts tree that comes with the G6 jeep actually has molded lightbar holders as part of the parts tree (AX80130)

now that I found this, that's what I plan on using when I get around to it I downloaded the manual from Axial's site - you can see it in there

i know, but its cheaper than a vp bar, and wider than an rc4wd led bar, it was the best fit IMO

I tried searching for those parts but I guess they are too new!! Have to wait a few months maybe?? I guess once the G6 is officially out there then parts will be available. In Canada it will be a long time!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I bought one of these 5 led universal mounts for my Honcho.
was $ 20. to my door... so I had to try one.

Anyone got a picture of it mounted to their Honcho or similar lexan body ?

Supposedly it will allow mounting to the Honcho's roll bar...
But I don't like the look of that placement.
So I intend to mount it over the windshield.

Will the mounts punch thru .040 lexan ?
Any reinforcement to the lexan needed ?

nope, mine punched through badass, no reinforcing needed and ive had some nasty rolls lol
