| My girls JK before I put new body and LEDs using NVS.
Hello folks! I know some of you have seen this Jeep in other posts but I wanted a thread to show some changes and upgrades I made. I bought the Jeep from a fellow RCCer and have since done a few mods. I am adding the NVS LED system and mounted the on/off switch in the rear bumper. The front bumper is where I mounted the on/off for the simple LED controller and LEDs currently on the rig. This has lots of upgraded parts that came with it. It is my first SCX10 based RC and I like it very much. My girlfriend is going to love it even more. |

On the new body I might use the Axial LED pods for the JK but not sure yet. I have a KK grill coming too but this might work? I will paint the buckets and all using Krylon Fusion chrome spray paint. It is great for painting light housings on 1:1 cars. I hope it paints on Lexan decent enough. Check my mounts out. The turn signals almost didn't need the black housings but I fubared the one hole by trying to poke my body reamer to mark for the drill bit!! Bad move it punched a huge hole!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Comment if you like. Thanks. |

I would but the girlfriend wants her Jeep dark metallic blue. I do as I am told. :P Today I swapped out the front little fog light buckets for Axial ones. Wow what a pain in the butt! I am not sure what make the others were but I had no lenses for them. |

Is it an optical allusion, or do your front axle joints have miniature CV boots? If so, what brand are they? |

It is not an optical illusion. I bought the Jeep from bayareaaxial and he said he put them on there. I have no idea how or where he got them but they are very cool to have. Might want to PM him. He commented just above my clear body pics. He would of course keep the Jeep the way it was..hehehe. Sorry I am not much help but he built the Jeep up with tons of upgrades. |

Update on tail lights! I was going to try the KK lights but I decided to try my own custom job using the stock plastic housing and Axial LED buckets. I have the NVS system so I needed 5mm mounts for the top brake lights and 3mm for the lower orange turn signals. What do you guys think? This mod almost made me scrap the stock Jeep plastic because drilling it was super finicky!! Wow this took me forever. It turned out as good as this OCD guy could make it. I copied the location of the old body for the tail lights and noticed the left is in just a tad!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR. I should have been more OCD I guess. |

More progress pics! Tamiya dark blue metallic sprayed....I used two cans for fun, then silver backed and final black backed it!! Interior stickers applied and ready for roll cage. Next step wiring LED controller and having easier disconnects for body removal from chassis. |

Thanks guys for the comments. It is for my girlfriend so if she doesn't drive it that is fine...hehehe. I just want her to be happy with all my efforts. I seem to enjoy building more than playing....weird I know :P

I really, really like that blue. I was thinking of going blue on my G6 build. What brand and color is that if you did mind me asking? I wish my wife would get into rc and want me to build her a rig. We would be broke. LOL
