4-link will replace this part and your suspension should cycle a little smoother.

Or you could do what I did and put a small washer on the screw and then thread the screw on.

I had slop in mine; despite not wanting to change i ended up doing so..i had no problem with a 3 link but it kept getting more and more lose and i could move the front axle all over the place..That power you have isn't making the issues aany better either as it puts even more strain on it...I would convert to 4 link and be done with it...My front axle is now solid.

some companies do make the aluminum 3 link mounts however if you wanted to keep the 3 link set up..its not very expensive if you get it from HR...I was going to do that but already had a 4 link truss to convert the front so just took that route

If you purchased the RTR kit you should have another truss just like the rear to make the front 4 link.

Just what OTH said, put a washer on the screw that has a larger diameter than the screw head or hole in 3link mount. Or buy a metal replacement 3 link mount that has a nicer swivel ball end.

That will keep the screw from pulling through but does nothing for the slop it has on the swivel itself...you don't want to be able to move your front axle around..should be as solid as you can make it.

Easy fix, just get rid of the Y link and that mount and go 4 link. The geometry of the stock upper link sucks. Separate the upper links at the axle so their angle is closer to but opposite the angle of the lowers and you'll get rid of the axle swing while the suspension cycles side to side. Take a look at the servo/link plate from VP, it isn't perfect but it allows for much better geometry. It's easy to copy if if you're handy with tools.

If there is an insistence on sticking with the 3 link...

I think Hot Racing makes an alloy 3 link mount
Might be that piece is more durable.

I've not tried it myself.
But... maybe others here have !?

I prefer the 4 link design front/rear.
And it was what I did when I realized the
stock craplastic 3 link mount is fubar out 'da box.

The washer fix (previous comment)
would help keep the link/ball from popping out too far...
But it likely won't stop the ball from shifting front to back inside the cup.

A slightly larger ball diameter might work...
but good luck finding the right size.
And if by chance you did...
Would be disparaging if the cheap craplastic cup on the mount...
breaks while trying to press that larger ball in.
And if the ball were too large !?
could possibly cause some bind issue.

Thanks for all the help, already tried the washer approach, but the ball ruined the mount. Forgot i had the 4 link mounts in the box so ill probably use them.

Cheers Everyone!

i had one of those 3r ones and there junk mine lasted about 3 runs before the ball thingy started to do the same as the old plastic one so now i have the 4 link instead its way better

Yeah I wouldn't recommend the 3Racing mount.
As they tend to use softer alloys for their construction.
But I think the HR version looks more stout.

But still... the 4 link is a better call IMO
