RR Gen 3 Slipper, slipping in my SCX10??? As the title says I have a question about my Robinson Racing Gen3 slipper in my SCX10 Stats on the truck - Axial Vanguard motor and esc - RC4WD IROKS 1.9 - steel gears in trans - MIP drive shafts The problem is I am not getting good engagement with the clutch material in the slipper. As soon as it gets a little wet it slips. When I take it apart there are no witness marks on the clutch material at all. Does not matter how tight I make it or how loose I leave it same problem. Please help. |
Re: RR Gen 3 Slipper, slipping in my SCX10??? Seems to me that it getting wet is causing the issue. Perhaps you should abrade the back side on the sour gear to allow the slipper pad to grip a bit better. A word of caution though, as this could lead to other issues like excessive pad wear, gumming of the abraded surface, finicky slipper adjustments, etc. |
I really dont care if it never slips. It is on my Mud/Snow truck. If i could find a metal spur i wouldn't even run a slipper Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk |

Re: RR Gen 3 Slipper, slipping in my SCX10??? Plastic 32p works fine with slipper eliminators too. |
I'm running stock 86/20 what would be good if I went to 32p? Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk |

I thought 32p gears were bigger.... 86t 32p will be larger than a 86t 48p Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk |

86/20 = 4.3/1 60/4.3 = 14 So a 14 tooth pinion and a 60 tooth spur would put you right back where you are now. 56/4.3 = 13 So a 13 tooth pinion and a 56 tooth spur would work too. |
Awesome!!! That was exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk |
Re: RR Gen 3 Slipper, slipping in my SCX10??? My brand new gen3 does the same thing, it's as tight as I can get it and it still slips under a small load |
