If the pinion is pointing straight out its not ideal..you want it pointing upwards maybe 15 20 degrees...Maybe less on the front as it tilts the servo as well and can create a problem in it self.

Any reason you cant just post a pic of yours ?

If you don't have clockable Cs than you need to have the pinion flat. If you do have clockable Cs than you can tilt the pinion up until you run out of positive caster. I run the pinion up a bit and that still leaves me with a bit of positive caster.

You should be fine using the stock length shock.
I think your pinion - DS angle looks fine.
And it looks to me as if you still have some caster at the knuckles.

In short...

I wouldn't mess with it unless you decide to go with longer length CO's

------------
more gibberish
------------

The lesser angle the pinion is to the drive shaft
obviously the better...
but perfection is not likely to be attained using stock parts.

Rotating the axle too far forward...
can fubar the preferred minimal caster settings of the stk C-hubs.
reducing steering and causing excessive tire scrub.

Any reduction to the pinion -DS angle
results in less wear to that.
Unfortunately the Trans. position sits a little on the high side.

Obtaining 8* C-hubs/knuckles allows further axle rotation
and will still afford a minimal caster setting.

^ I could probably rotate my axle another mm or two (at the ^ links)...
But I didn't want to be hassled more with the cross member interference.

I still use the WB8 DS's and original pinions...
they have held up to 3s abuse for many runs.
But then... I go purdy slow when I'm stretching it out.
For 5 mph stuff...
I run about 3/4" droop when static.
So that static droop helps keep the pinion - DS angle reasonable
for most normal surface adventures.

My chassis utilizes 100 mm CO's
so that 'causes more pinion - DS angle
when the suspension droops fully.
My pinion - DS angle does become more severe at full droop...
but it does not bind, nor cog.

Because you have less suspension droop...
your DS - pinion angle is not as affected.

Cogging is a sign that either the pinion angle - DS
is too severe...
or the DS's were not realigned properly.
Phasing them is required and there are marks for determining that.
