Default How do you guys paint your G6 body's?

More specifically, the interior. Do you paint it with the body color, then apply decals, or do you mask it off for a different color. I was going to attempt to mask it off for a black or grey color, looking for suggestions!

Thanks!

I've seen both done. Another method if you want the interior to have a more realistic flat color and not glossy is to trim the protective film around the interior and paint the outside instead of the inside. The interior is well protected by the roll cage so scratches shouldn't be much of an issue.

Hmmm... That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. The body will be a racing red with the black trim. I was thinking of grey interior.

I painted my body red and the interior black. Just wish I would've picked up flat black and no gloss. It's a little to shiny for my taste. I still thought about painting the outside like stated above. But I don't want to chance ruining my body

I like the idea of flat black, I think the stickers are of an odd color black that they will still stick out

I am thinking the console and dash one color, seats another, and back end and floors a different for the interior. Still haven't decided on my color choices yet. I know I will have alot of masking involved, but I like to take my time to make things look good. I'm a bit OCD.

Its good to know the flat black looks better for the interior.

I'm gonna try the black paint on the exterior of the interior..... I would like to try and remove the masking around the floorboards, seats, and behind the seats, leaving the dash and center console to match the exterior. The trick is going to be prepping the area for paint, and hoping the stickers stick after its painted.

I too like to add to a body by painting the the body color on the inside and the interior color on the outside.I think it adds to the look of the "scale" rc.Plus the paint on the outside has a duller look then the paint on the inside. It gives it a textured look instead of the high gloss.OH BTW the decals stick just fine.

Well, this is how she turned out! I didn't go to crazy with interior detail, but over all I'm pretty pleased.
