| Axial Rubicon to Honcho conversion question...
First I'd like to say I have been lurking here for quite some time. Although I live on the east coast I have been bitten by the crawling bug bad. Thanks to my wife I now own a Rubicon kit, Sidewinder brushless 3900KV setup. I love her to death and I know she means well but I had my heart set on a Honcho. So... First question is what would I need to convert the Rubicon to a Honcho? I'm thinking body, rear cage and some smaller parts. Would also like to run the Honcho Rims till Santa brings me a set of Gearhead EZ-Locks when they are back in stock. If thats not the case help would be appreciated. Second question is I know the BL setup has a TON of power most of the trails near my house are of the trail/sand and dirt hills style. What would you guys suggest for a brushed setup and speed controller? She also bought me a 5000mah 2S pack for it. Thanks in advance! Looking forward to spending a bunch of time here. Bobby |

If going brushed, the Holmes hobby items are excellent for motor and esc. The BRXL controller will be able to handle any changes in brushed motor or battery size as you change. I also recommend a 2nd battery...it sucks when you have to stop because no more juice! The body kit linked is pretty much all you need for the conversion. If you want an interior you should get one of those also. Have fun! |

Yeah A sidewinder set-up isn't gonna work with a scx10. Did she get the kit? The truck should have the electronics you need if RTR. If it is a kit then I would say it's worth it over the honcho for the upgrades. Anyways for a ESC and motor I would go with whats mentioned above or a Tekin FXR and 35T HD motor combo. I prefer tekin just because of how small the ESC is.

Yeah she bought me the kit which was sweet. Looks like I'll sell the sidewinder setup. I have the sidewinder already so maybe I will keep that and sell just the motor. Thanks for the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
