So, it was time to build a SCX10. The G6 was the perfect addition to the ever growing Axial collection.
Here is the build parts list...
MMP ESC
Saxox 1231 Servo
Spectrum 301 RX
Novak 13.5 Brushless Ballistic Crawler Motor
RC4WD Light module
RC4WD rear bumber...cut
RC4WD sliders...soon to be modified
RC4WD LED light bar
Aluminum upper links...anti squat mod...all links to be Ti eventually...BMRC
Custom Suicide Steering with carbon fiber rods
MotoWorx Racing Wheels with .425 Vanquish SLW hubs
Pit Bull Mad Beast Tires...waiting
Vanquish CHUBS and 0 ackerman steering
many scale items to be added...

Custom...Bovine Paint

Progress...

I forgot a couple parts on this build. The entire tans is RRP inside and out. I also put one of the nicest parts on this G6. It is really slick. I don't have to fab my own battery plate like I did on my forst SCX10 and it really ties the frame together. Jevne Racing Ultra SCX10 Battery Plate

Making some more progress.

The rock sliders need to be cut and re-welded so they are tight to the body.

Nice looking G6. Brake rotors would be a nice scale touch with how open those wheels are. Like the Cow theme!

Here is a shot of the suicide steering with carbon fiber links.

Here is a shot of all of my Bovine themed rigs. The Nuclear Cow Wraith and my Blue Cow Rally car.

Yes...the measurements must be exact. A digital caliper is very helpful.

This is why I like the suicide steering. Along with the VP products.

Here is a comparison shot with a stock SCX10.

Is the yellow Jeep a modified Tamiya hard body? It's awesome.

Where did you get the light lenses for the bumper?

The yellow jeep is a SCX10 Honcho chassis with a stretched New Bright TJ body. It's my trail rig. It's going to get a full over haul this winter.

The light lenses in the stock G6 bumper are are medium round yellow axial lenses.

Here is the link to the Yellow LJ build.

So, here are some pics of the shakedown run. Suspension needs some more fine tuning. Still waiting on my Pit Bull Mad Beast 1.9 tires. Overall I'm happy with the G6 kit. I'm still waiting on a few things...front bumper, RC4WD Warn winch, and plenty of scale items.

OK...some updates. I got the RCBros rear shock relocation kit from RPP. The kit is nice, but I ran into some clearance issues. You can see in the pics that I had to notch the frame rail to get the articulation I was looking for. I'm also going to move the upper mount farther in, so I can get even more. I also used Vanquish Wraith steering arms to raise the upper links for a better anti-squat geometry for climbing. Ciao.

One more note...I am not happy with the ride hieght of the rear end with the RCBros shock relo kit. It's too high. I like running a lot of droop in my rigs. Hopefully, by moving the upper mounts inward the ride hieght will be more inline with the front end. If not, I may have to put limiters in the rear shocks.

Thanks...it's gonna be a great G6 when I'm done.
Yes...I plan on doing quite a bit of testing and tinkering with the Gearhead shock relo kit.
The relocation of the upper rear link changes the geometry of the rear suspension so the it won't let the suspension won't compress (squat) on really steep climbs, hence putting more pressure on the front end. I will get some video of it when I can. It definitely improves the climbing ability of this kit.

I'm starting to get some scale items installed.

I'm still wondering about what to do with the interior. And I still have to get a driver.

OK...I got the rear upper shock mount modified. I got everything put back together. The articulation is impressive, but we will see how it performs on the trail. The ride height is where it should be. There is a lot of testing to be done. Here's the pics.

The tires are hitting the body both front and rear...I'm gonna have to do some trimming. I really hope this works as good on the trail as it looks.

looks pretty sweet. I wanna see it run. I really considering getting a heavy set of wheels like that for the bronco. Will you bring this thing to the nest rally race so I can check it out again?

Does the RC Bros rear shock kit lower the ride height? Is your ride height been changed?

Just so its clear, this is not an RcBros item. The mount is made by Gear Head RC

Sorry...you are correct. It is Gearhead...too many shipments have come in. Got confused. I love the products from both companies.

So, let's be clear. The shock relo kit is from Gearhead RC. I like to run a fair amount of sag (droop) in my crawlers. So the front end sits low and with the shock relo kit, it was sitting all the way up with the softest springs I had. So I moved the top mounts in for 2 reasons. 1. to lower it a bit and 2. to get more articulation and to get more clearence from the frame rails.
I think I may try an 80mm shock from RC4WD just to see if that cures some of the issues I have in the back. As you can see in the flex photo from the back of the Jeep, I have had to back the spring tesioners way off so I get the desired ride height, but then the springs on the extended shock are just flopping around. I think I can run a shorter shock and still have the look, ride height and articulation I want.

It is also a Gearhead RC product. I got it from RPP.
Gear Head 4-Link Truss for Axial AX10 or SCX10 (1)

So, I made my way to The Crawl Space today and picked up my PitBull Mad Beasts. This has to be the tallest 1.9 tire out there. You can see it's taller than the Maxxis Trepador and the RC4WD IROK. It is the same width as the Maxxis. The compound is super soft. I hope they work as good as they look.

Flexin...

The stance is pretty good.

Ok...making progress. Added some more scale items. Still waiting for the new RC4WD Warn winch and a driver. Enjoy.

My RC4WD winch is in! Sweet. I'll be picking it up tonight from The Crawl Space. Pics to follow. Still working on a driver. Suggestions are welcome. And I have to figure out a spare tire...where oh where am I gonna put it. Pics to follow.
