Question aluminum axle housing choices?

Ok I'm looking into some aluminium axle housing. I'm only coming up with 3 current choices ,VP, Curries , RC4WD. Are these three only options that are worth buying? I've seen the Integy makes one as well but I've not seen or been able to find a reviews of them. I'm just having a hard time forking out the cash for the VP/Currie set up at @ $400 total and that's not complete, that's just the housing using my internals. The VP housing would not be bad but the integy complete axle can be had for @ $90 a side, the rc4wd housing looks ok but it's outta stock. Anyhow I'm on the search for aluminum axle housing.

I'm interested to know as well. I've tried to get more info on the Integy axles, but to no avail. I want to be able to change the gears in them.

The integy set up looks nice and priced right. I just know their track record is not good in the area of tolerances and material quality.

Yes do tell. The fact that axles and gears can be swapped out...I'm almost ready to place an order.

Agreed. I wish blinkme would come back and answer the question of "how long and how hard" however. Integy and RC4WD metal seems too soft to me. I had plenty of problems with TF2 housings. Can't speak to Integy housings however.

You also need diff covers, shock mounts and the special truss to actually use those housings

Yep, just thought I'd show another option is all. I used VP housings on my Wraith and beat the hell out of them with no problems.

& I agree the Aluminum will hang up more than plastic & cause more drag over rocks wherever they make contact.

Or keep the stock SCX10 axle housings and then install:

-Beef Tubes
-Vanquish Wraith/XR10 Chubs and Knuckles
-RCBros or BlueMonkeyRC knuckle weights
-Locked Up RC, Vanquish, Hot Racing or Die-Laughing lockers

There's all of your low center of gravity and a bulletproof axle.

I said it before and I'll say it again: Vanquish upgrades become the cheapest upgrade you've done to your rig later down the road.

Yes you pay for it upfront but it's better than having to replace the "upgraded" parts multiple times. Eventually paying more on that same "upgraded" part than what you could have bought a Vanquish part for and be spending your money on other upgrades.
