| SCX10 Honcho front 4-link hardware?
Guys, I've searched (here and Google) until I can't search anymore. I'm switching my Honcho RTR to 4 link front. I have the truss that came with it and I have stainless links ready to go. My question is what hardware do I need? From what I've read I think I need the following: AXA434- m3X8mm Tapping button head (2 of these where the truss attaches to both sides of the axle.) AXA121- m3x30mm bolt (1 of these) AXA1053 m3 nylon lock hex nut (1 of these) These two go together to connect the new truss with the 2 links. What am I missing? I don't have an excess of m3 hardware sitting around and I cannot find the answer anywhere. I've read the 4 link instructions from Axial online, but I'm still not clear. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it! |

Just bring the truss with you to the hardware store and get a 3mm bolt that will fit through the mounting holes and a lock nut to tighten it with..My guess is less than 1 dollar for the hardware.. You use the same 2 bolts that held the 3 link bracket on the axle...All you need is a bolt to go through the links and a lock nut on the end...hope this helps..If you need button head screws for the ends of the truss but don't have them..just cut the sides off it and you don't need screws anymore for the ends. Sharky I was hoping you would chime in! So cutting the ends off doesn't weaken it too much? Also, do you find that a Lowe's or Ace carries hardware that small? |

yes..they should carry those sizes...may as well get the stainless screw and locknut. I don't think it weakens the truss that much...I haven't noticed a problem on the front at all with mine cut...I am replacing it though with an aluminum truss like I have on the rear so I have a matched set but it shouldn't be a problem for you...You might consider the Level3 trusses in the future..very well priced and very strong. | |

| Re: SCX10 Honcho front 4-link hardware? Any time man Get some black rtv silicone to fill in those holes if you run in water higher than the axles...You don't want the water inside them. Just get a little inside the hole and cover them..don't have to fill the holes completely with it. Last edited by 6sharky9; 12-27-2013 at 06:56 PM. |
