| any negatives on the dingo kit?
getting ready to order a dingo kit this coming week and was wondering if you all have any negatives on that kit over any of the other kits. just strikes me as a little odd that it is so much cheaper than some of the other kits out there. I'm wanting to get this kit for my son and I to use till I can get another kit for myself |

It doesn't have any licensed parts so that keeps the price down. The sales that RPP have right now are making me think about buying one of the $250 rubicon kits.

The kit is great, as said above, no licensing fees. Plastic shocks too, but I upgraded to losi 4" shocks during the build so the plastic ones never made it on..

I love the Dingo. Downsides depending on who you ask would be short wheel base and small tires limit its capability, but I find that to be part of it's charm. It's REALLY fun to drive. There is nothing wrong with the shocks, I actually like them. I grease the orings and run them without oil. The suspension cycles much faster and smoother and it looks much more realistic when going over bumpy terrain. Last edited by Jus; 12-29-2013 at 10:06 AM. |

I've been enjoying my Dingo, it's the first SCX-10 based rig that I have left 90% stock. My few gripes about it: I'm not a fan of the slipper clutch. The kit has aluminum lower links but uses those injected molded flexy, crappy uppers. None of the Axial kits have the metal balls for the rod ends anymore, they use the plastic ones. They don't seem to last very long for me. Glue on tires (no beadlocks) Very few complaints and they are all easily fixed, you just have to buy a few parts to do it. Very capable out of the box and plenty of aftermarket support. |

I have run a dingo based truck for a long time.Great truck,It seems to like shorter tires because of the short wheelbase,4.19" baja claws.

The Dingo is just as good as the Honcho or Jeep. The only differences in the Honcho and Dingo are the Dingo has a shorter wheelbse, different body of course, and different bumpers. The Dingo is a great truck and later on you can always change out the links for different bodies or whatever you want to do with it.

as others have stated... the shorter wheel base is the only concern. Otherwise... it's the same chassis platform as any other SCX-10 One could always change the links to longer if one wanted !? Wasn't asked... but here's a positive note... The Dingo's 11.4" short wheel base fits the Tamiya Hi-Lux and RC4WD Mojave bodies WB purdy well. I purchased two Honcho's... Then won a Dingo at a raffle. Already had two SCX-10 chassis... so Traded the Dingo in for two Mojave bodies (LHS) then realized the Honcho's links (WB) were too long. And I need that shorter 11.4" WB to make the swap. (oops) Still have that spiffy new Mojave body 'cause I prefer my Honcho's 12.3" WB Guess I'll have to stretch my Mojave body... if I ever get around to mounting that to my Honcho's 12.3" suspension. |

Towerhobbies has em for $199 (add something cheap to bump it over $200) and get another $25 off, plus free shipping. Can't go wrong at all with that |
