You could spend 5x what the kit costs without breaking a sweat but many upgrades are personal taste so it would be useless to you. With no budget I would get a 1/5 scale HPI Baja and go nuts... ;)

This whole RC bug just hit me when i retired, i tried a cc 01 Pajero but that didnt seem my cup of tea, so next up (thanks to this forum) was my dingo, which i like but want to upgrade, let me burn out on this one before i go bigger |

My guess is everything Vanquish makes for the scx10 Currie Aluminum Axles Can find a vender on here to make you or sell you a tube chassis (Must know what body youre using first I believe) Im sure you can find a paint and body guy on here for some custom paint work. Top of the line Airtronics or Spektrum or Futaba radio system and receiver Hitec 7955 servo or a savox brand with around the same power Tekin Sensored brushless set up with a roc412 motor Castle creations 10amp BEC 3s/4s battery power Pitbull tires MIP ort JUNFAC drive shafts Robinson Racing trans gears Some type of dig unit Gmade XD piggy back shocks All stainless steel screws Avid Ceramic bearings An expensive shelf to display it with Expect well over 2k (U.S. funds) investement. Expect to get maybe half your investment back or less if you sell it down the road. Good luck to you Last edited by 6sharky9; 01-01-2014 at 02:50 PM. | |

Look over Pham's jk build. Over $4K of no budget, shelf queen glory. Not to be confused with his G6 build. Both of which are awesome rigs. Find a build by Harley. A little more creative but just as costly. sharky... He "needs" more servo. lol ;) A 7955 is too cheap and weak. 7980. Dig is kinda useless. It doesn't work anything like it does in a comp moa rig. Big power will toast the internal dig parts no problem on a shaft driven rig. Also the dig setup introduced a lot of slop in the drivetrain front to rear. I'd try a RC4Wd 2 speed. 4s is too much. 3s is the sweet spot. Grip fab lockers for tight, no slop fit. I've been through stock(weak ass), no-slop clamping(they loosen up on me), HR (tough but sloppy) Check Super Shafty for Kyosho velvet shocks. Makes G-made look like rtr junk. Pick the right length. I roll on ceramic bearings too but feel they are not really worth it in many spots but are good for some. Good ceramics have tighter tolerances and will cut down on some of the slop in the knuckle area. The rest of the truck gets disposable $1ea Avids or Fast Eddy bearings.
