| Limited steering after vanquish cms/ link kit install
I installed my VP kit this week and noticed immediately that when turning left, I had minimal steering. No problems when turning right. Upon further inspection I noticed that the nut holding the tie rod to the servo horn is hitting the frame rail and is therefore limiting steering. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was the fix? It seems as if the servo needs to sit about 1/8" lower.

Do you have a pic you can post? Did you mount the servo on top of the bracket or from underneath it?

Sorry it's sideways. You can see where the nut has been rubbing the frame rail

Try a button head screw with the nut on the other side Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk |

Is the drag link parallel to the pan hard rod ? It looks off a little bit... but can't really tell by that picture. They both need be perfectly parallel to work well. What servo horn are you using ? Looks like the original plastic horn !? Some servo horns offer more offset, off the servo's output shaft. Might want to check into that more. I'm purdy sure my alloy Axial "clamping style" horn has more off set then the original plastic horn did... But I never used the original horn, nor have I done the CMS thing. So I don't know that to be fact. If the servo horn offers more off set and protrudes farther out from the servo's output shaft... The upper nut you currently utilize, may better clear, if the servo horn's offset is increased some. If keeping what you have... you could replace that bolt with a button head screw Edit: (already mentioned ^) flip the screw 180* to what you have, so the button head is on the upper side. Then thread the nut on the lower side. The lower profile button head may better clear the frame rail. :dunno: If the pan hard rod and drag link are not exactly parallel... then you may need a slightly longer servo horn to bring both those link rods on the same parallel plane. another option... Lower the servo on its CMS mount slightly. (or lower the CMS mount) Post a different picture that shows the drag link/pan hard angles. Or tell me I'm mistaken. I use a servo horn that does not need a nut behind it.
