Default Unimog Axial SCX-10 kit build

This is my first custom build, I used the Tamiya CC01 Unimog body kit and the Axial dingo kit. Had to customize the body with some styrene (first time using it) Here are some pics of the work, learned a lot along the way for the next time which will be a complete styrene Willy's pick-up build

Here is the start:

next I started my camo paint job:

finalized cab:

Attached to frame:

Working on the bed:

Added the interior:

Final complete project:

Nice work! Just about to start a Unimog build myself. I hope I can get it to turn out as nice as yours and others on this forum.

Thank you, post pics of your build I like seeing other peoples ideas, I wanted something a little different than what I saw other people build with the Unimogs and even though it wasn't exactly what I had pictured when I started the build I am happy with how it came out. If you have any questions please ask

Nice collection by the way!
Could you post a pic of the body off the chassis and a close up of the body mount? I am curious how you did it. I havent decided if I am going to do the clips or magnets or what. Thanks!

It's a little dirty sorry, but I used some aluminum and just molded it around the stock scx-10 shock mounts and I used the stock body post holes in the body. hope that helps

Very nice mog, I went a differt route and shortened the frame in the rear to match the length of the body, I also painted mine camo. Now just do the mog justice and waterproof the help out of it. Mine does very well, I can't tell weather it is a U- Boat or a billy goat.

mog is waterproofed already, although I already need to get a stronger servo and thinking about changing the tires over to some pit bulls too but the longer wheel base seems to help, my original idea was to shorten the frame but after I started the build decided to go long lol

The Tamiya body is actually lexan not hard shell. Its a highly detailed version as well.

She used styrene on other parts of this build, not the mog body. Hope that helps

EDIT: upon looking closer, looks like styrene was used on the rear of the cab, as there is normally a bed attached to this body

here is a link to the body

Rockhugger is correct. I used the Tamiya Lexan body cut off the bed and added Styrene to it. Very hard to get it stick to lexan lots of trial and error and knowing what to do for the next time I build one now. But so far its been holding nicely only had to fix it once lol. . . . oh and I guess I should say I added some of the bed pieces to the bed that I made too.

Hosierdaddy has a good how to on bonding styrene to lexan and styrene tips thread in the body and paint section. I've used shoe goo with great success.
