| My first scale crawler
Been around rc cars on and off over the years. Started with a traxxas sprint then a 4tec had two HPI nitros a few years ago a savage and a street car. Just got my son a rockslide for Christmas and eyed one of these for me. Decided to pull the trigger on the kit this past weekend. I love it put in a futaba radio, and older rooster speed controler I had, and picked up a Holmes Hobbies 27t motor. Can't wait to dive into the rock crawling scale hobby. Here's a few pics already fab up a spring cb antenna plan to add more to it. Last edited by muddy355; 01-07-2014 at 03:42 PM. |

Cool rig, my first scaler scx10 g6, should be arriving any time now, i usually dont like how large the radio antennae are for scale rigs but you pulled it off nicely with the spring.

Welcome, you are going to love it. I got into the scale crawling about a year ago with the honcho. Put in a axial 55turn motor and some custom all-thread links. It is slow but goes over rocks like nothing. I may have to use your idea for the antenna. It looks great. |

Thanks guys yeah it was a fun build. The cb antenna is actually just an antenna tube with and old receiver antenna wire and a fuel line for the cap and a pen spring. my real antenna I zip tied along the frame rail.
