| Running Two Batteries in Parallel?
I am wanting to run two smaller NiMh batteries in parallel on the sliders opposed to one large pack as to free up some space. For those of you doing this how are you attatching them?

| Re: Running Two Batteries in Parallel? Wow, why are you using NiMh? If I where you, I would most likely run two lipo packs on the sliders if you want that type of battery location. Seriously, lipos are lighter weight, offer longer run times, smaller in size which will fit better and yes they can be ran in water. (with proper steps in water-proofing). You can get a traxxas esc to handle two packs and then you'll have to program it somehow, just get two cheap lipos.

Velcro straps are an easy/cheap mounting option. I assume you have lots of good NiMh packs, so that is why you want to use them. What mah are they? |

Just make or purchase a "Y" harness. ...just don't exceed the ESC's capabilities. ie: the RTR AE2 is only capable of handling up to 3s batteries. ^ and will likely need an external bec to make that work properly. * I would still recommend charging those individually tho' and with a LiPo... balance charge them each and every charge. IMO... lose the NiMh's for LiPo power |

Yes, I made a parallel connector for pairs of 3s2200mah30c packs on the sliders. My main reason is to spread the amp load across a couple packs.

Yes I already have a few good nimh packs once they are gone they will be replaced by lipos. I will be using two 2600 packs and running them parallel would "double" the capacity not the voltage so the esc will be fine.

5200 Mah should give some decent run time even from NiMh. Use what ya got till ya need something more. Once you switch you will be amazed with the LiPo performance. | |

Here's mine with 4s lipo's. A simple parallel harness connects them up to the esc. I use 3M scotch heavy duty all weather velcro to attach them to the plate. That stuff holds great!! |

Same here. 2 x 2200 3s on my R2j G6 Sliders with 3m Velcro. Fits perfect. |

can anyone post a wiring schematic for making a y-harness? I'd like to make one for myself.

Nice rigs everone and thanks for the help I will have to shop around for some 3M velcro Now i just need to get a waterproof container for my electronics. One more quick question, can I coil up my antena and put it in the waterproof box or am i better off running it along the frame (Futaba Tx and Rx). I know neither would give me the best performance but i don't plan on being too far away from my rig while driving it. |

I made a parallel H harness for my wifes wraith based 1/6 Ford Raptor. Two 20t axial motors, two ae-2 esc's, two 2s 5000mah 30c lipos. Lots of soldering and wire routing. Works well though, 1.5hours run time on a trail ride.

Just completed some new delrin battery trays for the '57, pretty chuffed with how they came out. |
