| Jeep JK Hardtop
I got a SCX10 Rubicon kit for Christmas and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Here's a flex shot on for everyone. As some of you may know the hardtop that comes with the kit is held on by four small screws. (here's a pic for those who don't) I like the look of the hardtop, plus I don't think anyone would want to run around with it off in the middle of winter, but it gets old taking those screws off every single time I want to take the body off. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of making the rear window hinged like a full scale Jeep with some dollhouse hinges but couldn't seem to find any that were the right shape. That way I could open it up and squeeze my hand in there to get the body pins. Last edited by Nutters; 01-11-2014 at 12:53 PM. |

What about some really good velcro. I guess it might bulk it up too much for the hard top lines.

That's not a bad idea. I'll try that. Thanks

I just use the front clips and the rear tire holder that attaches to the roll cage. I leave the hard top on. Working on making my own body posts that would go thru the body up to and thru the hard top. Trying to use only extra parts that everyone would have, so others can do it.

I would use the rear tire holder clip but I drilled out the body post holes too far back so I have the body as high as it goes to eliminate rubbing as much as possible. That small plastic piece that screws onto the tire holder just isn't long enough.

How about some strong magnets? And by the way, does anyone know the dimensions of the larger proline roof rack? I ask because if I remove those four small screws the holes will still be there so I was thinking I could cover them with a roof rack.

Never mind about the Proline roof rack, I found the dimensions on Proline's website.
