7t puller if you can find one- you will then proceed to fined all the weak links. If you can't find a 7t puller, get a 13t expert from HH. You'll get the slow you want with the speed of the 27t. |

Love my 55t motors. Depends how slow you want. Are you running 2s or 3s? Ive run all 3 HH 55t sport/expert/pro. If youre running 2s then you want to gear the pinion up to like a 20t for some wheel speed. 3s i run a 16t and get the wheel speed I want/need. The run times are great, but everyone is different in regards for what they want. Id say a 45 is a good middle ground |

Have you simply tried gearing it down? Is it too fast to crawl with or just to jumpy at start up to crawl with? I don't really get "I want to slow it down for crawling" Hmmm, 55t... What's that! Snail speed.. Torquemaster 35t, 87/18, 3s to 87/16, 4s HH 16t crawlmaster , beautiful motor! Low end smooth crawling control, top end awesomeness! 87/16, 4s.. Now running a HH 30t team pro flow, 87/16, 4s... The biggest thing I notice about this motor is the ridiculous amounts of torque! Upgrade ur drive train! It doesn't have the low end of the crawlmaster motors but keeps the speed and digs in deep in every way! All work fine on 2s as well.. I just don't own any... |

If you don't need the wheel speed then I would buy some pinions, I have em from 12t-20t, they are cheap to try and nice to have. I find the mid ranges the best for scale(15-18t). Then jump into a HH motor.. I went from stock to a integy and thought I found gold.. Then I got a HH and it blew my mind! Since then I lean towards Any of the crawl type motors(5 slot armature). Smoother start up, not jumpy like ur saying, better punch thru all rpm's and a higher wheel speed in the end. Last edited by winnerone23; 01-11-2014 at 09:04 PM. |

A better 27T would be a huge improvement as well..35T will definitely take away a lot of wheel speed and you might find that to hurt you should you decide you want to try and get up some hills or through some mud..That takes a bit of wheel speed to get you through that..im guessing youre using a 2s lipo so I would suggest a good 27T and just gear it down..Youll get improved low speed control for rock crawling but when you need it you can have wheel speed as well...Just a suggestion. Holmes Hobbies makes a great 27T re buildable motor with timing adjustment features and should be a huge improvement over your stock 27T. I chose to build my own motor but I can say from experience you will get a big gain with something other than the stock 27T. You can however improve upon your stock motor like some have said with gearing down..i found a 16T with my motor to be much faster than a stock motor with a 20T pinion. A 16T to 14T would wake up your stock motor if you want more crawling ability. Whichever way you decide to go its a big improvement in general. |

Okay,it won't work for rock crawling? It doesn't have enough torque or /and to spin up to hop over the rocks ?
