Default Pickleds SCX10 Dingo

I just got a parcel at my door.

Dingo kit, GPM trans gears, Bluebird BMS 810MG+HS servo (looks just like the Axial stock servo), Hobbywing 80A waterproof ESC and Speed Passion 21.5T motor.

I've just built the trans in mirrored configuration and about to start building the chassis. Got to wait to build the axles till the beef tubes arrive!

I thought I'd help keep the diff from breaking ears by using this putty

stuffed around the free space inside the diff

Quick question, doesn't the dingo kits come with spur/pinion dust covers?

I know the pinion is metal, but the stock Dingo spur gear is plastic? I didn't realize this. Guess I should put that on the list of upgrades to buy before I get my Dingo kit? Is that a weak point of the stock Dingo tranny?

the trans is mirrored so the dust cover doesn't fit anymore

Common but not really a problem...Not warped out far enough that it applies a big amount of stress to the housing when tightened.

Ive never tried that..lol

Do you have a problem with the front end?

I was looking at your front pinion angle and it seems to be a bit high..that can cause geometry issues with the front wheels.
Unless you use whats called clockable c hubs you shouldnt use as much of an angle like you have.

You want slightly above level with the pinion angle in the front with stock c hubs which works perfectly fine

Is that a soft putty or a putty that hardens?

yeah thought something was going on there to, so I'd need shorter upper links to pull the pinion angle down a bit damn I don't want to go to 3 link uppers my alloy 4 links will be here in a week or so might see if I can find some M3 spacers and make the lowers longer? I only have pink spacers tho lol D3 drifter parts.

yeah it's a soft putty used to stick posters etc to walls with out marking the surface, so it's reversible!

You will change your wheel base if you lengthen the lower links. It would be best to use shorter upper links to correct angles. Your upper links should be around 3/16" or 5mm shorter than the lower links.

Well you already have locker function...if anything you need something that hardens so you don't have the play to start the process of gaining more slop over time..Not sure how well the soft putty will help you.

I used whats called JB weld to hold my lockers in place...you can use an epoxy also if you wanted..just make note of where the pegs on the ring gear fit inside where the grooves from the locker also fit inside..you want the gear flush to the locker housing,..don't fill that in all the way..and make sure to clean out any excess you might get where the axle actually fits into the locker itself...Or just get the spools we talked about...they should be back in stock in a week or so..last I heard was 2 weeks about a week ago

you don't have to go back to a 3 link...just use the links you bought..hopefully you got the correct ones for the top..As R2J said they are shorter on top..Axial has spacers you can use to make the stock upper links longer if needed to achieve your correct pinion angle but they will still be shorter in general
