| Rubicon kit build, basic but a little different.
Finishing up this Rubicon kit build for my wife, I wanted something a little different so I went with a half cab (Scrambler like) setup, Paint is Tamiya Purple, but looks more Blue in pics. For electronics I used stuff that was new, but I already had it kicking around, a Castle Sidewinder 3 ESC, Trinity Speedgems 35t brushed motor, Savox SC1256TG servo and her Spektrum DX3C radio. Pretty much just waiting on a CC BEC to finish it off. Nothing too fancy, but should be a fun rig that we will upgrade as we go along. |

Looks great. You could shave off the hinges in the rear, fill in the rear seats ,then you'd have a pick up |

Didn't think this would look good on a 1/10. This looks super clean. Nice job.

Thanks, I was actually thinking about using the back of the old roof as a cab back and cutting out the rear seats and making it flat. I think it might take a lot of strength out of it though.

I like that color...reminds me of the YAMAHA blue/purple'ish looking color in the pics. |

It's definately a weird color, looks more purple in person, but pics make it look blue. It's Tamiya PS-10 , I think I like the Pactra purple better, it's metallic, but very thin to spray. The wife is happy with it though...so that's a plus! |

Happy wife, happy life. I think my wife would be happy if I sold all my rc stuff. |

The CC BEC finally came in the mail yesterday (couldn't even run it without one because of the servo), got it wired in and buttoned up everything. Test run went well, (tires suck). I'm running a mini 3s pack from Turnigy. Picked up two of these little packs for $15 each, new. 2200mah 20-30c. They work VERY well with the scx10's, nice and light weight, plenty of power when you need it. Last edited by HDMM; 01-22-2014 at 07:44 AM. |
