Default Savox SW-1210SG on stock SCX10 steering knuckes and c-hubs

Anybody tried this servo? It's waterproof, rated 20kg at 6v.

Planning to use it on my SCX10 but don't know how long the stock steering knuckles and c-hubs will last.

What do you guys think? Should I go ahead and install it on my stock steering assembly or should I upgrade first to alloy knuckles and c-hubs? I already have a BEC on hand and currently running a 10kg servo on stock steering assembly.

Thanks!

yeah I'd install it and see how long it is till it breaks the chubs lol but seriously if you're worried about you chubs just adjust your endpoints so it can't go past full lock!

I'm running a Savox 1256TG with 277 oz. of torque on stock stock parts.

Test and worry about it later hehe! It's a practical idea but from where I live, Axial parts is very scarce and I have to get it online which takes a few weeks before it arrives.. the wait spoils the fun out of it.

I'll make sure my endpoints are adjusted properly.

How about rock crawling? Can a 20kg servo break the stock steering knuckles when caught between the rocks?

Thanks!

You can break the stock knuckles with a stock servo if you don't drive it with it with respect or have an accident.

Im using a servo with 177oz of torque and have had no issues with breaking the stock knuckles..Depends on how you drive it for the most part.

You may roll down a hill and the edge of the wheel catches a rock and it breaks it..anything can happen...you may have enough power when your tires get wedged that you snap it in two trying to push the rock out of the way or lift your truck on servo power.

Just install it and drive it...If you break one due to power then you know you need better ones..If you break because of an accident then you can either replace it with stock or upgrade anyway.

^you have a good point there bro. Well, I drive carefully for the most part but accidents can do happen. I guess I have to use it to find out.. Time to get those alloy knuckles and c-hubs just in case.

Thanks!

I'll run the sw-1210sg on 5v.. That should put out 222 oz. of torque which is a bit closer to 0231 on 6v in terms of torque output. I hope the lower voltage will help my stock knuckles and c-hubs last longer until I get better ones. Thanks!

i will say if you go for alloy c-hubs knuckles get beef tubes as i was running alloy c-hubs and now i have to replace my front axle housing as the screw`s that hold the c-hubs have stripped the threads out. iam not sure if it was because of the c-hubs or not but but iam going back to plastic for now and all see what happens and if it happens again iam going to get some beef tubes to reinforce that area as you screw into the tube and not the housing

^Thanks for the heads up bro! I'll keep that in mind. How about a longer bolt, washer and nut inside the housing to secure the c-hubs? That would be more secure.. however, installing the nut via the c-hub opening will be quite a challenge.
