Default XR-10 Knuckles and a Honcho

ive recently got a set of XR knuckles and have ran into a clearence issue with my wheels rubbing on the knuckle and linkage...to make my rig runable ive sandwiched some rubber spacers between the wheel and the hex to gain a few mm...ive searched wheel wideners but am turned off at how much 17mm and 15mm is (not by the price but the look ).....i have the wraith stock hexes with the rubber spacers...ive read about stampede hexes and XR hexes...anyone have this experience?

How thick were the spacers? I had an issue with my wraith where a couple aluminum integy rims were rubbing my steering arms and put a set of traxxas hexes on that were thicker..but plastic...and it fixed the issue....

Gmade hub extensions are nice.

Stampede/Rustler front hexes, about 8mm wide. Available pretty much anywhere, PN TRX3654. Plenty of length on the axle for the longer hub.

Are you running 1.9 or 2.2 wheels/tires ?
2.2's would offer more interference I'd think.

I use the Axial 8* alloy C-hubs/knuckles... (1.9")

I didn't like that the XR mod would make for a wider axle.

My Axial stuff improved the steering throw...
and has no steering/tire clearance issues.
It also allowed me to clock the forward axle more.

But the original RTR TX does not allow for any fine tuning
adjustments for the steering or throttle controls.

You might look into is a higher end TX.
if you don't have one already...
get one that allows for endpoint adjustments to the steering.
Then you can dial out some of the steering throw and/or endpoints.

I purchased the cheapo FlySky GT3-C...
My TX is not hacked...
but it does allow for adjusting end points of both steering, throttle (Ch3 too)
and the memory capability to store the data for 10 models.

The FS 3 channel RX's are cheap to purchase.
^ unlike many of the higher end TX's.

Tho' not a great TX unless hacked...
it does allow for finer adjustments to better dial in what is.

I was not gonna invest in a better TX...
'cause I didn't think it would offer that much difference
over my original RTR TX.
But boy was I wrong about that.
Having more adjustment on your TX is a big plus !

And the FS GT3-C is well within most anyone's budget.
about a $ 50. investment.
and glad I did.

thanks for the replies! OSRC ill have to go and try the hexes...i bet they are cheap!

Taco Crawler...i bought a hpi rs4 receiver where i can set all my end points and throttle and steering speeds etc. thanks for all the info! im running 2.2 wraith wheels for the time being...but when it warms up im throwing the 1.9s back on

i Have Topcad c-hubs and the XR knuckles....and the rubber spacers i made seem to work for the time being...but maybe saturday ill go see if the rc shop has any taxxas hexes...

Does anyone know of any hexes that are about 10mm? 8 should work but the gmade 17mm ones seem too much lol
