Default What Brand and Color of Paint?

I am building my SCX10 Jeep Rubicon kit. I guess I am going with Silver Color. Never had any RC that was silver. I called a hobby store and asked them what kind of Silver they had and they said:
Pactra Indy Silver (RC262)
Will this look right on my Rubicon or do I metal flake or what. I would like it to look like a showroom silver Jeep (like the stock RTR Jeep) Thanks for opinions!

According to the owner of my LHS...
Pactra RC paints are being discontinued
by the current business that owns Pactra RC paints
Pactra RC paints will be no more, said my LHS-O

* I personally have not verified that ^ person's claim

but: another thread

Another alternative for polycarbonate/lexan paints is Tamiya.
There are several shades of silver offered in a rattle can specifically for
use with polycarbonate/lexan bodies.

Tamiya "PS" series paint chart

IMO... the Pactra Indy silver is a medium grayish/silver.
A darker shade then what Axial uses on it's RTR's
Close to the Tamiya PS-12

I use one of the lightest silver shades Tamiya offers
that is PS-41 Bright Silver.

^ this shade of silver can be kept bright and brilliant...
or can even be darkened up a shade if one chose.

* If you wish to have a black or dark colored interior
and wish that the silver stay bright...
spray a coat or two of white on the silver paint coat
before applying a darker color/coat.

Very informative and I agree. I'm not going to use the Indy Silver. This it is just dull grey. I like the Tamiya Bright Silver also. Does PS-41 have any metal flake in it? I think that would look the best if it had a very small metallic in it.
On another note, what kind of black would look best on the top? Black or Gun Metal and where should I paint it, on the inside or outside? Thanks for the detailed explanation also.

That's the good thing about silver...99% of them are nothing but metalflake. It seems like every silver out there has that look to it.
