Default first upgrade options

i have a rubicon unlimited builders kit version
I'm thinking of the novak timbuk2 esc/motor combo but aside from that what are some of the necessary upgrades i should work on first

If you're building a kit, start with good internals so you only have to do it once. Beef tubes, diff over/underdrives, lockers, and steel trans gears. Everything else is bolt-ons unless you get hardcore with Curries and such.
When I built my G6, I started with diff over and underdrives, Robinson center gear, Axial CVD's, and a few select aluminum pieces that weren't absolutely necessary but I do not regret them.
