I've been really happy with the solar d772 on my wroncho. Both on axle and on chassis it has worked great at 8 volts.

I am not thrilled with my solar d772. I find it rather slow and weak but I am running it right off my BR-XL esc. I just need to put a bec on the BR-XL and crank up the juice to the servo.

Not sure what your budget is, but when I am putting a servo on a 1.9 I like to have at least 300 oz/in and transit somewhere below .15 secs ideally. Titanium or strong metal gears is also a must for me.

There are many option, and really it pretty much comes down to you get what you pay for.

I have been running A Hitec HS-7954SH in my SCX10 and it works really well. It has 333oz of torque at 6V or 403oz at 7.4V. It does have steel gears but I haven't had any issues with them breaking.

The Hitec HS-7955TG is another good choice for the SCX10.

I just purchased a third... fairly pleased as well.
also bumped mine up to run @ 7.4v
seemed improved over what it was when set at 6v
Maybe I'll bump mine up to 8v too
ummm... how many volts can be run thru an ae3 rx safely ?

can't the BR/XL's voltage output be adjusted w link ? :dunno:
yeah... more voltage (w/bec if necessary)

It's really a great servo considering it's purchase value and claimed specs.
Kinda slow... but then I like that for the realism. (if compared to a 1:1)
a 1:1 don't steer any faster then a driver can input the steering wheel.
ridiculous wheel turning speeds look silly on a scale crawler IMO.

When I was racing on dirt at higher speeds...
then steering speed was much more critical.

But steering torque... yeah, a crawler can never have enough.
And even tho the D772 isn't the very best nor most powerful...
it has enough torque to turn 1.9's with authority
The lower initial buy in cost is why I have more then one.
None of them have failed thus far.

maybe 8v will give my D772's a little bit more gumption

I'm also using the Solar D772 servos, one in my Honcho (using a CC BEC at 6V) and my Ridgecrest (with a BRXL only). Both setups seem to work ok for me.

Savox 1270TG Coreless, digital, titanium gears, waterproof, high voltage. 486 oz./in and .11 second transit time. I run it straight off of a Nano-Tech 2S 850 with an in-line capacitor. It's an animal. Combined with the UHF of my KO Propo radio, it can crank the tires faster than I can turn the wheel.

Hitec 7955tg in my Honcho. I used to be happy with the 5645mg but after trying a faster and more powerful servo they are just so terrible now. it's like torture to drive with that servo now.

bump that ccbec up to 7.4v... you'll be better then just OK
then you'll wonder why you did not do that earlier !?
^ maybe you have no link ? (get one)

I was somewhat disappointed with my D772 operating at 6v
it's running at a lower torque value then it is capable of.

Look at the spec chart on 'dis page

I am running the hitec 5646 waterproof. Had really good luck with it so far. I just got the TSL XL so we will see how well it pushes those around this year.

Just installed the solar d772 servo and ran a cc bec to power it at 7.4 volts (finally purchased a castle link) So far I really like its performance at the higher voltage. Not bad for $17.50 Gonna waterproof it next...

I'm running a savox 1268 in my rubicon and Solar D772 in both my deadbolt and my G6. For a $18.00 servo it is very very strong! I decided to try them from what other were saying and what reviews that I have read. Others will say that their speed is a bit slow....well if your using the truck as a trail / crawling rig.... it should be more than enough. If your going for comp crawling, then you may want a Savox or a Hitec. The question I'm dying to ask is ......Who makes the Solar brand servo?? Anybody know??

After my. Trusty Hitec 7954 failed I went to a Savox Waterproof 0231MG. Lacks a little when pushing my weighted 2.2s but it think it would be fine for 1.9's

My wife's honcho has a savox wp 0231mg and is plenty fast and strong enough with 1.9 boggers and weighted dick cepek wheels, my G6 I'm building has the HH bls hv400 which for 418oz/in. titanium gears and aluminum case for $80 it really can't be beat.

savox 1256 in 2 of them and a savox 1268 in the other...can't comment on the 1268 yet.

the 1256 with a big glitch buster on the ae2 and hh brxl works great

Savox sw-1210sg waterproof super strong digital metal gear and tough as anything. I have three of them, one on a Wraith with really heavy 2.2's and and one on each of my SCX's. Even used to run one on my e revo with jumbo kongs single servo set up. Spend the money once and you won't have to spend more money twice.
