| SCX10 Short Wheel Base. The Summit VCX16
Guys, this has been a long time coming. My little Summit was a great runner, when it ran. After just too much bench time and not enough run time. I reluctantly decided to salvage the electronics that I could. I bought an SCX10 and the rc life hasn't been the same. Now, I have the SCX10 and a Savage XS Flux. Now, I want something that fits right in the middle. STRC now offers an SCX10 short wheelbase chassis. I'm in and sold, also purchased a Dingo kit. Nothing has set in stone right now. I hate to keep you guys guessing what I will build. Here's just preview..So..the Summit VCX16 project is born! Last edited by OhioGuy82; 01-28-2014 at 04:15 PM. |

After a long hiatus. The Frame is in! Solid! No channel here. The only notching is for the transmission plate. Then it came! The Dingo. I will be using everything but the shocks and frame for this build. The frame will be I will be using for another Jeep JK build. Trans plate in. You can see the length difference is significant over stock. Here's the part I do not like. The stock SCX10 plate is below the frame rail just enough to do links without major disassembly. This one is tucked up a little higher in the frame. Going to make link replacement a bit tough. Here's another problem my Summit body just it not going to work. It's just too small. I wish it would though it would have been good to see it move a lot with that body. Now I am on the hunt for a cab. This is starting to turning into a truggy now. Does anyone know the length of a High lift F250 cab? or a Hilux cab? Any cab only lengths? I am open for suggestion. Last edited by OhioGuy82; 02-11-2014 at 07:32 PM. |

The good thing about a truggy is that you can you can adjust the wheelbase and "bed" fairly easy. Id say just buy a cab you really like and make it work. Thats half the fun.

A little trimming of the frame rails and moving the bumper mounts/ cross braces in and it looks like it will fit nicely.
