moter install on axial scx-10 (pic)

Does this look like the right spacing with the moter pinion and spur gear ?

Best method I have found (also noted somewhere on this site) is the paper method.
Stick a piece of paper between the gears and mesh them together, lock your gears in place, and pull the piece of paper out. This leaves the paper thickness gap between the gears. This has worked for me and I am sure there a ton more methods to do it.

That is too loose.

Yeah, it's too loose. I tried the paper method once an the gears seemed too tight. So maybe not that tight, but yours are way too loose.

that picture is hella zoomed in that gap is probally less than a mm kinda a bad picture

Like said before, it looks loose. Best method I found is a piece of clear plastic bag that rc parts tend to come in, it makes a good shim to place between the pinion and spur to set the gap.

Been too lazy for years to use paper, always found the tight spot and made just a tick of back lash since the mt nitro days. Not many spur gears are concentric, there will almost always be a tight spot.

And yes, that pic looks loose. Its like you can see molecules its so zoomed

We will tell you the answer if you can spell "Moter" correctly.

The best way I've found is to use newspaper. It's thinner than reg. paper. So it gives it that just right mesh.

I use a magnifying glass to see the gears mesh and adjust.

OH YEAH?.....I invented a laser guided meshometer to precisely guide the pinion and the spur gears to align perfectly with out error...
So take that Mr. Split......lol

Your laser was out of alignment...Nothing beats microscopic alignment.

AH!!!!.....But my laser aligns on a subatomic level......So there!

Is that a 10w class 5 laser? :lmao:

Re: moter install on axial scx-10 (pic)

I was thinking of possibly using a very fine gauge sewing needle to set gear mesh.
