| Father and Son matching duo!
It started off with my JK, then my son drove it most of the day out on a trail run, so I picked up a Honcho for him. He loves the green on the JK so I painted up the Proline F-250 cab for him! Just finished it a few minutes ago and had to share! We enjoy trail runs and course crawling together so much as well as racing our short course trucks. Its way more fun sharing this hobby with him than doing it on my own. He's almost 12 and won a rookie trophy last season indoor carpet racing the short course trucks. I have the Dinky interior and bedside kit coming for the Honcho, can't wait to scale it out like the JK! On to the pics: |

I'm taking the lift off the JK and putting it on the 250 so I don't have to trim the fenders too much. I'm also getting the Proline front (narrow) bumper for the truck as well...

Added some stickers and a lift to the 250 to clear the tires without trimming the fenders. |

Bought the Dinky RC Honcho combo and got them installed on the F250 Honcho. Came out really well, had to trim the interior a lot to fit but it turned out really well. Here's pic of the bedside kit and interior installed: |

Leave the lift on each. A lift kit isnt but 20 on ebay it would make them really match. Keep the work up I'm glad to see a father is with his son actually doing something more productive than playing games. I've actually learned a lot from my rc and how things work. If it wasn't for it I wouldn't quite understand how a 1:1 vehicle works. Hopefully this will be something hell remember for forever and be able to look back and see how its affected him. (Besides taking his money lol) Last edited by THX_138; 02-17-2014 at 07:59 AM. |

Yeah, I'll get another lift, but the 250 needed it more than the Rubicon. Thanks!

Great looking rigs, the f250 body is a nice touch. When I lifted my honcho it seemed alittle off on the trails, so I stretched the wheel base alittle. After that it started pulling trails & climbs it couldn't do before. Sharing the hobby with our kids (and my wife) makes it so much more then just playing with toys. Trust me your son will always remember these times. I'm in my mid 30s and some of my best memories as a little kid are sharing the rc hobby with my uncle. Hats off to you for being involved with your kid, and sharing a great hobby!!! Last edited by AZINDY; 02-16-2014 at 09:44 PM. |

Great looking rigs! Can't wait to get my son out crawlin with me! I got him a Son-uva-Digger Stampede last year for his 5th birthday, so he could get the feel of a "real" R/C... This year I think a Deadbolt, Dingo, or maybe even a Wraith is in order. |

This is awesome! Love the rigs and the color combination, very nicely done! I also love that you and your son are enjoying this hobby together. Definitely better to get him started outdoors than staying in. With my 22-month old son, he loves the Honcho that he and his mom shares, of course, mom drives while he chases it. =) Anyway, don't forget to post pics as soon as you get the narrow ProLine bumper mounted up. I'd like to see how that looks, especially since I have the 250 body in the package waiting. |

Got the ProLine narrow bumper all mounted up. I think it turned out great! Has a lot of mounting options for height and spacing. I really like it. I didn't put the rear on yet because I don't have an Axial rear bumper mount but I will... I also put the stock front lights in the bumper too. I'm not a huge fan of the chrome, I may paint the fairlead black or change it out for a different one. I'm gonna change the shackles too. |
