SCX10 for dummies thread?

Is there a thread on here that shows basic and bomb proof mods for SCX10's like Harley did for the Wraiths?
I'm new to these and looking for an all in one thread. I've searched but just can't find one thread that covers it all.

thanks.

Re: SCX10 for dummies thread?

And you probably won't find one, this is because everyone has there own opinion on what is right and wrong. Remember this, " give 10 people the same kit and in 6 months you'll have 10 different rigs" This is, iIMO, because people don't want to show up some place and have 1/2 of the rigs look the same.

So, look through several build threads and take what you want from them, then apply to your rig."thumbsup" Happy building.

The tranny stuff would be the same for the most part. But if your not running brushless power I would keep the tranny stock.
I would start with weak points first.
Go with stronger chubs, knuckles, lower links.
Upgade to high torque servo and servo mounts.
This alone should take some serious abuse.
Then maybe some drives hafts and some CVD axles.

Basically, you can follow Harley's wraith bombproof thread, just change out wraith specific parts for the scx10 counterparts.

And if going brushless, it's smart to upgrade everything in the drivetrain (trans, shafts, axles shafts, etc) anything putting that insane power down through the wheels.

can I be a dummy here ? what are beef tubes and c hubs, half axels, I have the booklet to my rubicon but it doesn't refer to those parts names Iam seeing on here. Iam trying to build a class 1 scx 10 w/ jeep Comanche body and floor pan.

Your best bet is to just search each term you come across you're unfamiliar with.

But to answer the question syou posted, Beeftubes, here's the link to them (Basically strengthens the axles as well as add weight to lower the center ofgravity.

C-hubs are what the steering knuckles bolt to on the steering axle (Plastic bits, if you're beating on the rig or a screw comes loose will break) I personally went with Vanquish Stage 1 systems for both my rigs.

Half axles, i'm not 100% sure on, but i'm assuming just stronger axle rods inside of the axle housings. (Axial Universals seem to be best bang for the buck)

I'm going to build a G6 with the best parts out there. It will be on 2.2's.

I just finished a couple Wraiths... http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...ler-build.html
