Default New to the crawler scene! Got myself a deadbolt

So I got my deadbolt from tower. Been in rc for about 7 years now. Been into the stadium truck scene to the short course scene. Figured I'd try out crawler because I still am not interested in the on road stuff.

Here's my collection. Losi xxx-t, associated sc10b, new deadbolt! Duratrax vw baja bug, and ofcourse a slash ( who doesn't have one!!)

Will post pics later! I instantly moved all electronics to the front with battery mount right in front fo the transmission. Lowered body mounts all the way down. Running 0 preload on the springs, truck still seems springy to my liking? Im not sure though, I don't know what a crawler should do! I also traced all the body lines with a black sharpie pen. Looks really good!

My collection

Now onto the deadbolt!!!!
Electronics relocation, going to move the esc and reciever to behind the transmission to get it lower like Harley did in the budget build

Body lines done up and I also cut the rock sliders down to just the single bar, looks really clean IMO

Next up will hopefully be some links, think I'm gonna do the all thread with a sleeve method. Also, possibly a grill for the body? Anyone make one or do I have to make my own?

interesting mods. It's a little scary seeing the receiver front and center like that, I thought they were pretty fragile. But I'm new at this.

Can you post pics of the sliders without the body? That's a nice look.

Never really thought of it that way, but I agree! I plan on moving the esc and reciever back in the stock axial box and putting it right behind the transmission, just like stock but on the other side. I will post close ups of the slider tonight!

Custom links are definately up next. I was out crawling on some rocks and the rear axle would literally tweak itself towards the body. After my battery died I looked and the plastic lower link on the right side literally bends over past the driveshaft

To answer your question about the grill, reign rc makes one as does next level by ckrc. I just bought the one from ckrc, its close to an early bronco grill.

Also comes in aluminum.

Or this one

Well the wallet is slim as it is so that's good haha! I know about the wallet I have about $800-$900 in my associated sc10b. Thank god I ran out of money to use on my slash ( that could easily run my about $1000 total!)
