TINY's take on a G6
 

Well I thought and I thought about what kit/rtr I should get. I was leaning towards the Honcho.It's rtr not to bad out of the box, and I could upgrade as it went along.But then I was looking around one day and thought why not the G6.It's got the same stuff as the Honcho. Just with the electronics.And it has better links and shocks.Plus it's cheaper. I was sold.I rounded up some electronics for this build.THERE NOT PERMANENT. They're just there to get it going.
RX/TX = Axial 2.4ghz
Servo = Traxxas 2075
ESC = Traxxas XL5
Motor = Holmes Hobbies 27T trailmaster sport
When I bought the kit it came with a free Gearhead lift kit (I'll not be using this) and a 3racing winch.I also picked up a Vanquish front bumper/CMS mount.I also took some wheels and tires from another build I have going. They're 1.9 Tsl SX's on Motoworx raw on raw 10 hole LE. So that's where I am as of now. here's some picks to start with.

I love the feeling of building a new kit!!!.....The excitement, the anticipation and best of all.... The satisfaction feeling you get when you turn that new build on for the first time!!! Ahhhh. ....memories!"thumbsup"

It is a fun build! My only complaint is that Axial sends you on a wild goose chase for the needed parts during assembly.

It's going to be a pretty straight forward build pretty much. But I do have some stuff up my sleeve when it comes to the wiring. And it's going to have a oldschool paint job that'll be one of a kind.

Yep it feels good to know that everything moving and everything on the truck.You built,You put it all together.So you know what's going on from the inside out.

I've got the axles built, the shocks, the links, and the transmission. The only thing I was upset with about this kit so far is. I wasn't able to mirror the transmission and use the spur gear cover together. I'll post some pics tomorrow."thumbsup"

The electronics start to work their way into the picture.I made a custom "tray or shelf" for the esc.And the servo is on the Vanquish bumper/cms mount.

The Vanquish CMS mount. The mount that the front of the battery tray bolts to is removed for the CMS mount to fit. Plus the servo would be in the way also.But with all the electronics up front plus a winch going on the bumper.It'll off set the weight a bit.Not much but some.

Well....I didn't want to go and start moving stuff around. Receiver box etc.
Plus if I did want to mount the battery up there. I would need to fab something up and that wouldn't turn out so well.It would look all jacked up and would probably do more harm than good....lol See I don't have complete use of my hands. So ever since I became disabled fab work has been mostly a thing of the past. I can fab something up now and then but nothing like I used to be able to do.I could ask someone else to fab one up for me.But that's just not me.I don't like asking for help. I know they make a tray that you can buy for just that purpose. But I just don't like the look of it. So I'll stick with the battery in the back for now. If I think it will help me later on down the road I'll come up with something."thumbsup"

Sorry I missed your comment....I'm going to be sending the body out to be painted I think.It's a little cold here...lol (We just got 13" of snow")...lol
So I'll be sending it to someone that does paint work year around. Not sure who yet but I'm looking.

I got a little done today.I got my motor wired up, my winch wired up, and my lead wires wired in for my winch/steering switch. By that I mean. I'll have a toggle switch that when it's flipped one way I have steering. When I flip it the other way I'll have winch. That way I can run a winch from a 2ch remote.I also put a male plug on the toggle wire going into a female plug. So when I take the body off I can just unplug the plugs and they're apart."thumbsup"

I've got an old hotrod paint scheme in mind...One I haven't seen done on anything in a long time. It's old school and simple but it's very cool.It's a plain dark color (like black dark blue or charcoal gray) and simple hot rod flames on the hood and down the sides a bit. Not like true fire or real looking flames but the ones that fade from white to yellow to orange to red to blue tips. I mean old school hotrod...lol "thumbsup"And I'm going to paint the interior tan on the outside of the body to give it a textured look. I'm hoping to find a painter that doesn't want an arm and a leg to paint it but I may end up going with finding one of my friends to paint it a solid color for me and then have someone put decals on it for me.

What do u mean by " mirroring " the tranny
