Default Whats a good replacement for the Shocks?

So I'm reviving my Scx10 from the shelf queen she became over the summer and switching out the mostly stock set up for a little more trail/crawl action.

During this I discovered 3/4 shocks are basically drained of fluid, the last one is leakin aweful, and frankly these shocks are a disappointment.

What's people's suggestions for replacements under the $45-50 range to replace these puppies. Or are they really worth repairing and keeping?

and any suggestions with these shocks, (stock or not) on shock oil weight?

I've considered: Gmade G-Transition Shock Black 90mm for 1/10 Crawler & Truck (4)But I hear they are rather stiff.

(here she is as she sits)

I'm a fan of Traxxas shocks. They're cheap, durable, don't leak and very easy to work with. Commes in all sorts of types and lengths, depending on what you want and are willing to spend. Aluminium Bigbores are commonly used on crawlers. From what I've experienced with stock Axial even the cheapest Ultra made of plastic would be a huge update.

Also heard good things about Gmade piggybacks and Proline Powerstroke, but never tried them myself.

Can't go wrong with Proline Powerstrokes. A little pricey though.

I run the G-Transitions, mostly because I was already running semi droop with the stock shocks. I love them though!

I've Rebuilt the stockers with some new 30w oil and a little marine grease in the bottoms. the Orings were good, but the bottoms were loose. I'm going to keep mulling about on the upgrades still. Powerstrokes are above my price range, I've been eye balling thoes Traxxas xxlong shocks as an option.

I got a set of Gmade XD 93mm bladder shocks and I'm very pleased with their quality and performance.

Are you running the stock springs? I'm about to get these for all four corners to replace the 110mm shocks my honcho has right now and am wondering if I'll need to order softer springs as well.

I've been happy with the new scx10 ICON shocks. haven't leaked on me. Also I used the Gmade XD shocks with bladder/diaphragm AND the aeration model in 93mm. They work well, have a little less articulation than the stock shocks.

Regarding your stiffness concern I would say yes they are a little firm, but since the rigs I used them on are hard body heavy pigs of a rig then its perfect for me. You may need a softer spring for a mostly stock scx10.

Ok thanks. Yes my rig is mostly stock so stock weight. I'll probably order a set of soft springs with them and see how it performs.

I am tossed between the PL Scaler shocks and the King 100's. I like the looks of both but I need performance over looks on my rig at this point in time.

Just picked up a set of Proline Scaler's today at LHS. I got tired of the stock shocks leaking while the rig just sits on the shelf awaiting spring.

I am throwing my vote in for the Pro Line scalers also, they are a super nice shock, but I do have a question and I dont mean to hijack your thread but... What are you guys that have them doing to stop them from leaking? I just figured that since they come factory built that there should be a minimal chance that they would leak, but all 4 leak, even sitting on my bench or shelf. Is there a rebuild kit for them or a home remedy?
Thanks for any input, and sorry about taking this kinda off topic.

Use marine grease on the bottom between the Orings and spacers, thread locker on the caps, and make sure it's all tight. marine grease helps keep Orings greased but really it's the added benefit of preventing as much oil from leaking through.
