| 5000/6000mah 2s runtimes?
I finished building my scx10 unlimited rubicon yesterday. Tuesday my electronics should be here, i have a Turnigy 6000mah 2s 25c pack, Castle sv3 and 27t motor ordered. From what i have read it looks like i should get pretty long runtimes. How long should i expect out of this lipo?

Hmmm well if your running stock gearing man you should be getting somthin like 3-4 hours of run time. I run a dynamite 20t with 16t pinion on stock spur and my 2s 5400mah 20c gets near to 4 hours of run time - Richard |

Oh yeah.. It also depends on how heavy you are on the throttle and what kind of off-roading you'd be doing too - Richard |

Man thats amazing to me, the runtimes these crawlers can get. Ive been out of rc cars for a couple of years, i raced 1/8 electric buggy and we would struggle to get 10 min unless you turned your throttle epa down a good bit. Even 13.5 truck would get 15-20 min. Its very refreshing to me that i will have hours of runtime on ONE lipo pack. 6000mah should be healthy sounds like!!! I plan on running a conservative gearing. Maybe a 16 or 17 pinion with stock spur for now. Im not really interested in speed at all with this truck, i want torque and runtime, thats it! I will gear it so it will scoot along a litte but nothing fast at all. All my electronics are waterproof factory so she will take a dip too after a long run! |

Running a Sidewinder 3, 35T Tekin HD motor, stock diff gears, stock 87T spur, stock Ripsaws, either a 15- or 18-tooth pinion, 2S 25C 5000mah - I easily get 3-4 hrs and often more. This is a combo of trail (usually 1-2 miles) then a few hours of crawling. Very very happy with this.

One rig is running stock gears with 27t Holmes and Holmes esc with 30c 5200mah and I get close to 3 hours with a mix of crawling and trail running, my other rig has a Castle SCT 3300kv set up with 16t pinion stock spur 35c 3300mah and I get about 2 hours same mix of running. Both batteries are 3s.

I have stock Axial electronics and a 4200 2s and im getting a good 1 1/2hr- 1:45, out of one battery, that's probably 30-45 min of high/med speed n the rest crawling... Really depends on what you're doing with the truck. I think considering the size, weight, and cost of the battery, its totally worth it. Long as you use the batteries weight as a benefit in weight distribution -> as in not high in the truck, the heaviness shouldn't be too much a problem when you factor in the excellent run times. |
