|  14t or 20t pinions...
My Honcho came stock with a 14t black steel pinion, but 2 of my friends say there SCX kits came with 20t pinions... What's the deal? Are they coming with 20t pinions now?

They have always came with a 20t pinion stock as far as I know.

They need to come with smaller pinions cause they burn motors up with the stock pinion. I am wanting to say all of mine have come with 20t pinions and I have put 14t or 15t on them along with a 87t spur since they seem to like the 80t now.

My jk rtr came with the 20t gear installed and my parts book shows the same 14t.

If it actually came with a 14t, that will be better for keeping your motor cool. Probably need to check the actual pinion to be sure.

They used to come with the black 14t which I think was made of aluminum, so they used to wear quite quickly. And with 87/14 on 2s I think they were a bit too slow for most newbies to enjoy. them. So now, the new pinions look like they are made from steel and are 20t to speed them up. |

My Honcho was a kit not a rtr, and it came with the black 14t pinion. I'd say it's about 5-6 years ago I got it.

I run a 28t On a 21 turn 550 traxxas motor in my SCX. I love it! Good wheel speed, and still have great low end power. These 550 motors are BEASTS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
