| 4 link Pan Hard?
Tired searching but couldnt find an answer. So sorry if its a noob question..... But im running VP's 4 link, I want to upgrade to their CMS bumper mount. Do I need to run a panhard if I get their bumper mounted CMS even though im running their 4 link?

You don't need the pan hard to run a CMS, the 4-link keeps the axle centered, but the bump steer might be pretty bad. My first rig I built was CMS and 4 link and a few guys commented that the geometry wasn't right at my first scale comp.

How would I go about correcting the bump steer? Or is it really not that big of a deal?

I'm not sure how you'd do it on a 4-link CMS setup, it might not be too bad. You always have a little bit of bump steer with a CMS, it's just a matter of reducing it as much as you can. I think you'll be fine with that setup, the VP CMS bumper mount is nice, have one on my JK.

The pan hard setup works better because the axle actually is pushed to the side a bit under compression, the 4-link fights this and it can bind up a bit.

A Three link with a panhard bar will let the axle move to side which will eliminate most of the bump steer. |

That video is a perfect example of a bad setup, thanks for posting what I was explaining. Yeah, go 3 link and pan hard, not the y-link setup or 4-link.

| Re: 4 link Pan Hard? Sounds like thats what has to happen then? You know of a good pan hard kit to get? Vp doesnt sell theirs separate for stock axles. They have one for the Curries though. If they do I cant find it.

RPP Hobby | Radio Controlled Cars, Trucks, Boats, Helis, Planes, Plastic Models GCM racing sells a pan hard kit that has just the brackets. You have to provide the link for the pan hard and the top link to make the front 3 link with a single top link (Not a triangular 3 point) GCM Racing WebStore-2013 - Axial Panhard Kit | |

I second the rc4wd cms setup. I have it on my rubicon and it works great. Only needed minor modification to the left front bumper mount to make a perfect fit. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
