Default Should I get another scx-10? Already have 2......

Hello,
So I know this seems like a stupid question that a newbie would ask (no offense here) but i can't decide If I should get another scx-10. I have a rtr honcho and jeep JK rtr but I regret upgrading my honcho, i wish it was stock but there's no going back to stock. So getting another honcho leaving all stock besides the steering link and free mods I can do it will be the way I want it. I can also get a kit version of the g6 but then I will have to buy a esc, receiver+transmitter, but I already have a good servo and motor so Im half ready lol. I can build a kit but what would you guys say? I can put that money into my ridgecrest but I just got done with a special build on my traxxas slash 4x4 lcg and that monster is ready to beat the sc10s.lol. And when i mean "should" get another scx10, well Im addicted to trailing off-road! (So that should answer that haha). Oh and since i mentioned this will be mostly stock I will not open my wallet for the never ending upgrades for this truck! Thanks in advance, - axial 4x4 crawler

P.S.= Here are my options-
- Axial jeep jk kit (I already have the rtr so why get this)
- axial jeep g6 kit (nice kit, I've thought about getting one)
- Axial honcho rtr
- New upgrades for the ridgecrest

just curious why you regret upgrading?

Do you have comps in your area? Maybe start building a Class 2 or Class 3 truck to comp with...

Personally, I just buy parts so don't know what a stock Honcho performs like... I've never had one.
If I were you, I'd buy a set of upgraded axles and go from there.

- Well thats a cool idea but my ridgecrest is a rock crawler (only) that I put together for the comps and I just need some metal links, I hate the plastic links! But thanks for the advice.

Yeah thats a cool truck, is the SlickRock a 1/10 scale? Cause I don't want to buy anything unless its a 1/10 or bigger.lol. There is also the gmade 1.10 rock crawler that I've looked at before but what do you think about that gmade crawler?

- Well Im not exactly regretting it but I miss the performance and look of the good 'ol stock honcho. I Do not have comps. in my area but I've been looking all over for events other than the axial fest in California thats like the only place I can go and I live in St. Louis Missouri. What is a class 2 or 3 trucks? (Like the specs, etc.) I've had my honcho stock for a month until I put way too big of shocks on because I was a newbie and didn't know anything about trailing but i do now of course. Do class 2 and 3 trucks have special upgrades? If so I'd like to know, and I appreciate your help. - axial 4x4 crawler

There's a G6 in St. Louis April 12th.
A bunch of us are driving down from Chicago.

Iron Mountain Depot

You're stockish Honcho would fit right in.

Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 are the 3 different classes that SORRCA runs.
2014 SORRCA Scale rules

Most comps run SORRCA rules (G6 is a little different).

When in doubt buy a scx10. Really there is so much potential in these rigs you could have 10 of them modified 10 different ways and they would feel like 10 different trucks.
I personally think that one of the rtr trucks are the best deal if you want to just get rolling. Its not that big of a price difference really. Yeah you get plastic links but its not that hard to make cheap but good metal ones and you get all the electronics. The honcho rtr is $355 compared to $299 for most kits. The dingo is $249 if you want a cheaper kit though but I don't know what links it comes with

just my $.02

- Yes thank you, that is very true. I'll take some time and think cause april 12th as mentioned there is a event close too where I live. I can either get some more upgrades for my honcho, jeep or get another scx-10 but then again I will simply decide what to do. I can get some vanquish axles for my honcho but here I go again spend a sh#%load in parts. But thank you, I appreciate your advice. - axial 4x4 crawler.

Thank you for the specs, they are very helpful. It looks like my honcho makes class 2 but Like i said if I upgrade it more then it will be better.lol.

unfortunetly its a 18th scale shafty!
ive never owned anything less then 10th scale myself, so the slickrock will be my 1st.

ive held it and its solid for a RTR model!
worth the money i think, especially in the winter months when your getting the crawlin`itch. :P

Yup. A upgraded Honcho on 1.9 (or smaller) wheels is perfect for a G6.

And, if you go to comps, a Honcho on 1.9 tires falls into Class 2.

Yes you should buy another because 3 is better than 2.

- Yeah okay thank you. I already begun to make my parts list for my honcho. I plan to make it more scale with rc4wd scale parts, etc. I will be doing this in 4 steps with upgrades. If you would like to know the list then just PM me, thank you. - axial 4x4 crawler

- Yeah your defiantly right about that, I'm making a parts list for my "old" honcho and getting it ready for april 12th event. Its not much time but Im probably going to wait on a new scx-10 and just put all that $$ into my honcho that will be a g6 ttc truck. (at least i call it that.lol.) thank you for commenting on my thread, - axial 4x4 crawler
