| Scx10 axle ?
I built my scx10 jk kit and when I pick it up and pull the trigger just enough to get the wheels to spin the axles chatter almost like horrible wheel hop... drive lines are phased correctly and axles and transmission spin free when not hooked to anything. Any suggestions? BuIlT nOt BaUgHT! |

Holy crap man i was able to see it but im logged in to youtube through my google plus account. Its really bad worse then i thought in your description damn i wish i could help you. I'd say from the way the wheels are stuttering the gears are skipping at some point i remember when my spur and pinion were close but not close enough id have the same issue the spur would spin and periodically it would just stop while the pinion kept moving..that's the only thing i can think of, the bevel gears aren't meshing right.

My G6 had a little bit of that. The pinion/diff gear mess had some tight spots causing the jerking. I loosened the diff housings bolts some and drove it around for a while. A few packs it is mostly gone. Just make sure the bolts holding the 2 axle halves are not too tight. It doesn't take much to hold it together. Also possible that the inner bearings for the diff pinion is not seated correctly. Factory mold flashing may have been left in where the bearing goes holding the bearing from seating correctly. Hope that helps. |

I read somewhere that you have to line up the drive shafts end so that the tick marks that was molded onto the parts line up. Hope that helps...

Agreed. Your drive shaft pins aren't aligned. I rebuilt my rear end this weekend and forgot about drive pin alignment. It chattered like crazy. I lined them back up. Problem solved.

Actually the lines on the shaft doesn't matter, its the cross pins that need to be lined up. Install the shafts with the pins both laying horizontal to the ground.

Mine does the same thing 2 weeks old , drive shafts had too much of an angle . Made aluminum suspension links to change the pitch of the drive shafts , now it all went away

I'm apparently stupid, but why does the orientation of the pins being lined up matter on a u-joint? I've never worried about that, not had any of these issues.

I wish I would of found this thread sooner. I just bought RR steel gears, Axial HD bevel gears, Locked up spools, Axial front cv joints & MIP drive shafts. I still had the problem. I checked the pins & the front drive shaft was off by 90 degrees. Realigned and its perfect. Thanks guys.
