Default how much weight can an Axial SCX10 Trail Honcho tow

Hi, I have a Stock SCX10 Honcho and I want to make a trailer. The trailer will be for the tank my little brother recently bought. It is a Heng Long Walker bulldog pro, weight nearly 4.5 Kg. My SCX10 is still fully stock, only have a better steering servo, body clips, servo horn and custom made steering rods (or how that thing that is between your servo horn and the weel and from one wheel to the other wheel which makes it possible to steer)

For now I still use Ni-Cd battery pack but I am thinking about getting LiPo's. Still looking around and trying to understand the do's and even more the don't's around using LiPo's.

So what kind of trailer is best for transport of heavy loads, like how many axles, wheel size, type of material the tires are made of and what way I should connect the trailer to my car. And most of all can I tow this tank without destroying my car/gears/deforming frame etc.

This link may be helpful to answer some of your questions:

I found it by using Google with the following search criteria:

Read the full topic and still don't know:
How much my SCX10 can tow
What type of trailer is best for transport of very heavy load (tank)
What type of tires is best when towing tank on trailer.
Only thing I found kinda usefull was the hitch but not sure if that thingy will hold the weight of a tank + trailer
I only saw pics of crawler's on the trailers but no tanks, and because the honcho weight about 2kg and the tank almost 5kg

the Toyota Tundra pulled the Space Shuttle...
sooo... you could prolly pull a tank.

deal is... get a tandem axle trailer to support the Tank's weight.
Two axles will be more supportive...
and reduce (minimize) the trailer's tongue weight.

a single axle trailer could have too much tongue weight
it could still be done...
but the load would need be balanced perfectly over the axle.

^ assuming the axle is strong enough
and the tires are firm enough.

Ok so il go for 2 axles, that point is solved,
can i tow a tank... not sure if i can compare a space shuttle and a toyota tundra (u mean 1:1?) Wit my scx10 pulling a scale tank... but whatevet check with a sidenote that i was already planning to replace my gears axles and driveshafts.
not sute bout how to to make a hitch yet but il figure out something...
but for the wheels. I have plastic wheels their 4,2X1,5cm a.d made pf plastic, these wheels are hard, so not to much grip when steering, their strong tried standing on one once tried making a scateboard of it... they where a bit small for that...
hey i got an idea, i have a scateboard it has strong axles must be good for tank, hope their wide enhough, wheels are strong to, and i can eventually replace em later
i go and build the trailer myself by the way.

Anyone could hell me find vids/topics/pics about other people trying to or just making a trailer for a rc tank.

Yes i googled alot but looks like i search the wrong way or so cuz i aint gettin what i lookin for.

My scx10 with a 55t motor can pull a 25lb weight(barbell flat weight) absolutely no problem. Literally dragging the weight, it doesnt just roll behind my truck.

So there should be no issue regarding the weight of the tank on the trailer.

A lot of this has to do with how the trailer is built too. If it's balanced correctly when you load it up, and you put the weight on the axles, your scx10 honcho should be able to pull any thing you put on your trailer, with the exception of yourself, lol. As far as towing around other rc's it wouldn't be a problem. If you really do some major mods on your scx10 you might be able to pull a 1:1 truck with it. Good luck with this bro.

I pulled my son around in a wagon when he was little. Probably 25lbs at least.

Ok thanks to all of you. This are really the answers I was looking for, and especially nice to see how easily it pulled you son around, definitely weights more than a tank.

Still wondering if anyone could tell me if 4.2cm high hard plastic wheels should do it.... let's just say that they can hold double the weight of the tank each without deforming a bit.

Or should I go to the RC shop nearby and get some other wheel? Any tips? Those from that dinky topic earlier on would those be fine?

I do the same, he loves it and the scx10 doesn't seem to mind at all.

I did it with stock setup, but now run the Axial 55t for much more torque. As said above, any lipo is better. Those are both good though. I've only ever run lipos and can run for an hour on each pack.
