Well folks, after YEARS of go fast rigs , ( for reference my first kit was a tamaya hornet and i RACED it competively) and getting tired of spending $ every time I want to run the sc10 at the track just to practice, it's time for a crawler. Promised the fiancé before I bought another rc, she would get one so I just ordered her the unlimited 4 door kit today. Have to wait till "late April" for the g6 kit anyway
AND..... Got my 65 year old mother GEEKED for this as well. She is getting her crawler this week. Now I have TWO excuses to get mine when it's available.
What's better, is mom has a BIG backyard with waterfall/pond and has already made plans to make a course. I will post pics as finances scx10 gets built, and more when my g6 gets here. Life is REALLY good
Ill create another thread for the crawler course as it comes along.

I credit you all for my new found addiction. I've been reading these forums for some time, and have some ideas for these builds. Thank you all for getting this bug to bite me again.

Mom AND fiance' with their new crawlers

So, "goodies" going into moms crawler are the FXR tekin 35T combo, savox waterproof servo, RC4WD steel stamped beedlocks, WARN winch and controler, spektrum dx3c controller. I'd post pics but photo bucket and my computer are NOT palying nice with me today.

Well somebody looks happy in that pic....Having fun with the family make this hobby even better! Great choice of parts for moms ride. I running the FXR combo and like it alot. Great torque and decent speed even on 2s (for and scx10) Downside is the LVC for lipo is too low at 3.0v per cell. Had to buy hotwire to program to 3.4v per cell...

So question. It's a savox waterproof ip67. Something like 276 torque. Will she need a bec with the tekin esc?

REALLY need to pay for a rcc membership to make posting pics easier. My computer hates photobucket.

Yes I would highly recommend installing a BEC, dont forget to unplug the hot from the esc to the rx if you power the rx with the BEC.

Thats cool that they are getting involved, nothing like the family to go scaling with.

Very cool! Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Something about trail trucks. I had many different RCs for years but not until I got my Wraith a couple of years ago my wife showed interest. Lol. Not long after that we were buying her a new SCX10 Rubicon RTR. She loves it and has since upgraded just about everything. Including a Tekin FXR combo and winch.

Hope you all have tons of fun together. I know we sure do. Enjoy!

Nope. No heavy mods. Winch and lights will be about it. Good for trailing is enough for me.

I de-cased my fxr pro sprayed some plasti dip on and it ( put a small piece of tape over leds ) fits in reciever box no prob ( stayed de-cased , just plastidip on it) and buttons still work fine covered in spray- plastidip !

Edit: and the non pro fxr is a lil smaller too !

Receiver is in same ( axial box ) box as my fxr pro ..... But I run a dx4s witch uses SR410 RX and it is tiny my friend , also I de-cased my RX and spray plastidip and I also leave case off of RX ! ( no need for case just takes up room ! ) anyways I don't have a pic wit RX in there .. But I will show you current pic now and clearly you can see wires going in for RX ! The waterproof hpi box in pic has my BEC and Heyok winch controller in it ! ( box from sprint 2 flux btw )

And this is the only other old pic I have , but it shows that there is a lot of room still left in the axial RX box with the decased fxr pro installed in there ..... And thx cas this set up prob took me 2 weeks to think up haha

I also run 4WS , that why so many wires haha !

fiances rig is coming together.
The fxr esc is TINY compared to what I'm used to...where is everyone mounting this to keep it up out of the way of water splash? Double side tape to the back if the receiver box is what axial puts in the instructions for an AE-2.
its getting there. Did several coats of silver on the inside, and she wants mat black on the OUTSIDE. This way WHEN she crashes or scratches, it will show silver through it like a 1.1 body

Great idea on the esc by the way. So where did the receiver go? I don't see where it had enough room?

matt black looks SO tough on the fiance's rig
