Default My single axle car trailer

First off sorry if wrong section but pics of my scx-10 included!

After seeing the price of scale trailers...I figured I'll just make my own....to what I want..built it all as I went in my head.
Yeah its not scaled perfectly. I dont care..its my own lol. It did cost me a total of $37 to build this though...

Materials I used were 1/8" thick x 1/2" angle and 1/2" flat bar. .093 Lexan and its all riveted together. I used a Revo rod end for the coupler on tongue and 8-32 all thread.
I plan to have a deck over tongue also and add a Proline scale toolbox..and a couple other things. Mini dovetail ..etc

I might possibly also add another axle eventually..just for looks.

Still gotta pickup my hitch/reciever..dont have it yet

Anyways heres pics...not a build..just a show off lol.

Nice! But why did you position the axle so far back? I would toss another axle in front for dual axles

More tongue weight..not like it matters lol. I also did it as mentioned for scaled look if I did add another axle..which I might eventually.

My axle consists of 1/2" c channel, 8-32 bolts and nuts, two ECX rear carriers(with bearings), two ECX driveshaft stubs.
Tires are 1.9 Ripsaws on Axial Beadlocks

Just for shits and giggles I made a pair of ramps using preforated plate...they look short and steep but work well.
They lock onto trailer deck by two rivets each one i flipped around and left the stub..so they just slip over and stop em from moving...not actually riveted like that perm. My 2wd ecx monster truck had no problem getting up em.
Built a temp hitch also..drop hitch i made is tad too long and trailer doesnt sit level. My ajs machine hitch is same length but it will be OK as i'm putting 1.55s on the trailer probably so itll level it out

Nice work on the trailer, I like how you have a spare trailer tire.

Looks real good for a boat trailer....But if you plan on hauling other rc trucks much you should really think about putting on another axle or moving that axle forward. It's ideal to balance that weight over the axles instead of in front of them. It puts a lot of unneeded strain on your motor. And even though it's just a rc truck. The bearings in the rear axle, the motor, the shocks, and even the chassis. Will have extra wear and tear on them. Just a thought..

I'm not really worried about rigs..my ecx is a basher and been through hell with that castle 3900 in it....ive overheated it more times then your daily calorie count ! And the honcho will only pull boat. Thanks for comments and concerns though. I did think about tongue weight when I placed axle actually and to me this was a better choice plus leaves option for duals! "Thumbsup"

I'm pretty sure I've lost my mind...stay tuned folks.

Headin to the races this weekend

Not sure..at least 4 pounds.
It's more for talk and show..I won't be pulling it fully loaded for 20 mins at a time going a mile with it..ya know? Just take it to meetups and show my buddies

Added a tire rack..think I put it a lil too low ...didnt equate for thickness of deck..once my Honcho is on trailer it will be close. We will see.
Finally decided on my axle design..might work on it tonight but not sure...busy day at work tomorrow...damn buildings AC's shittin the bed..first 90° day of summer.

Rack will fit up my 2.2s on it and 2.8s with smaller tires on em

Heres how I am mounting axles.
Axle consist of 1/2" tubing, 3/8 all thread through. I will double nut the all thread on each side of axle tubing..then a few tack welds to keep it in place. Simple..little little play. The mounts and bracing is still being worked on.

Still deciding on wheels and tires. Need something with a heavy load range foams in it..thinking of Integy Rover steelies but dunno if look right. I wouldnt mind some RC4WD steelies with heavy foams in em but lot of money. Need something on cheaper side. Dont think any premount SCT wheels/tires will work like i wanted.

If anybody has ideas..let me know. Need something in the 1.55/1.9 range and no taller then 3" or so...

Picked up a couple tool boxes yesterday...just got to mount axles then paint then the deck. Oh and build the pin
