Default Craft Day

Today a brown truck drove up and left a package on my porch. It was my first scx10 I opened it up and thought wow what a nice jeep.

Then after staring at it for an hour.. I thought I would do some crafts today and give it some character.. So I made a canvas soft top, some bungees, a couple antennas on the back and a roof rack.. Now I sit and wait for the white truck to come with the winch, servo parts and some wheels..

Thanks... The past few days I have been busy with birthday parties and yard work (taking advantage of nice weather) but I was able to get some links made and put on. I had to order another set of rod ends so I can mount the upper links but the bottoms are on

And I also made a couple tow ropes and camping mats for in the basket. And added a net around the rear windows.. Not real sure if I like it though..

Tomorrow I will be tearing down the servo to put bearings in it. Then mount the steering links on I made after the servo is put back on..

Yeah I find that most wife's don't really approve of the micro scale course as a permanent fixture in the living room lol. Just sayin!

In case you were wanting to know.. The bumper is the RC4WD tough bumper, the winch is the Bulldog wireless winch and the lights are a set of twelve (others go in as soon as my lightbar shows up) G.T. power rc lights they are real simple to set up and have different functions.. I am more then pleased.

I was disappointed that the bumper did not come with any hardware nor the winch.. Luckily I had all the bolts needed..otherwise it would have been a depressing day. So lesson learned. If you buy a winch or bumper, buy all the hardware you need as well.

The winch came with the plate.. Just not the bolts to mount it to the bumper.. I drilled out the tiny holes in the plate to accept 3mm bolts that I had.
