| Fried my stock esc
Well as the title states I guess I didn't do the best job at waterproofing my esc on my honcho. Thought it was my motor at first but I ran it in my buddies wraith with no issues so it's gotta be the esc. I don't want to spend a ton of money on one and I'm trying to stay with a brushed system for the time being, what are my options on a $75 budget? Any input would be greatly appreciated

Used MMP. That way you can go sensored brushless in the future if you want.

If you are running in water buy the holmes hobbies Brxl speed control the make it waterproofed and non waterproofed. They are 100.00 for non waterproofed and 110.00 for the waterproofed. I know that this is over your budget , but these speed controls are very high quality. They are worth the money. Suffer through it and save the money for one of these.

Tekin FXR dipped in Corrosion X. They're around $50-$75 on RCC. I have purchased many used ESCs, the pictures typically tell a lot about an ESC's life. Go for the sellers that present it nicely and has little wear on the ESC (No modified wires, cut wires, burnt cases, etc). |

| This is the way to go on ur budget. I have 3 of these and they work great. Also if you have the mamba then chances are you have a programmer for it already too. I'm slowly switching all my escs to castle. Its just easier to have one programmer for everything in my opinion.

I did the same same thing, and swapped in a Sidewinder 3. You will need the USB castle link to switch it to brushed mode, turn up the drag brake, and switch it to full crawler reverse though, but that's about $20 I think. I'll soon be swapping to a Holmes Hobby esc after experiencing it on a friend's truck, it's worth it for the Holmes hold function, and re-using the SW3 on another project. |

Yea I went with the castle esc my lhs had one in stock and programmed it for me, staying brushed for now with the stock 27 t until that burns out then I'm going to try a 35t and go to a 16t pinion and possibly 2.2s. Drag brake at 100% is awesome and I finally mirrored the motor/trans and it's helped a lot with the torque twist. Now I just need to finish my aluminum links, the stock plastic ones are starting to bow really badly
