Default Trans question

A while back I picked up all the RR gears for my trans, and was just curious about something. I have the new wb8 shafts that use the through pin, but the Robinson one piece gear seems to just use a set screw. Will this cause me headaches when I install it, or should I just do it use a set screw and heat shrink over it? Just don't want to throw a shaft when I'm out running trails.

Either drill the output for through pins or drill and tap the drive shaft yoke for a pair of 4mm set screws. A single 3mm set screw won't hold the driveline on for long.

When I built mine a put in the Robinson one piece. I cut the pins down and used a little lock-tight on them and have not had a problem with them yet. I'm also running a 13.5 Tekin brushless on 3s. Though if it ever starts to give me problems I might try drilling it out but it would not leave much material on either side of the output.

Just drill a small divot on the flat part of the output and use a short bolt head 3mm. Just carefull not to over tighten and snap it off.

I'd do this. I did this on a set of MIP's I modified to use on a rig they are not for. I just drilled each output side with a 4mm drill bit but just let it start before grabbing a full cylindrical hole...so its a saucer/divet as stated above.
Used 4mm grub screws loc tited down....rig ran on 4S..geared for torque and never a single problem
