Best way to widen the wheel track?

I have been looking and searching and have come up with a few options but I wanted to talk to those who have already been down this road for more options.

I have a stock Honcho with Axial 8 hole beadlocks in 1.9. I want to widen the track width about 1/2" total...meaning 1/4" each side without getting new wheels. Government doesn't pay me enough.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Either wider hexes, as was mentioned, or slw hubs on the plastic beadlocks. Functional durability upgrade and adjustable.

I have a set of the traxxas hubs, only gave me a 1/4" overall.

Meat, tell me more about mounting the SLW hubs to the plastic wheels, will I have to machine the surface for the hub holes or is there a wheel you are thinking about?

1.9" wheels

They got you covered "thumbsup" The axial stock plastic beadlocks are only weak in the hex dept, never really had an issue with them pulling a bead. And mthead has a nice selection of rings for customization.

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade too! However this part is what stopped me from mentioning it...

If you do it with parts out of the classifieds it can be done really cheap.

I suppose it's worth considering if I only use the Tubes as the extension and not the hubs and knuckles. I don't want it TCC illegal with wild mods.

Even still, I would need new axle shafts.....

That's why VP hub mod or Traxxas Slash front hexes are the way to go. Hexes were not wide enough for your, therefore VP hub mod is the dealio. "thumbsup" Even if you buy new VP hubs and screws it's cheaper than XR mod, multiple offsets available with industry standard 6 lug bolt pattern, adds scaleness to your plastic Axial beadlocks. EDIT again, XR mod makes the axle too wide imo.

Wouldn't this give him more width than he is looking for.

The traxxas hexes were perfect for me. Put the tires even with the fender flares.

If you do the narrow version it doesn't add a whole lot.

Even though I found MY solution, let's keep the treads alive for those looking...

Got some great guys with some great input already invested in this thread to let it die!
