So after driving my sd scx for a while now and realizing its uber top heavy i have the sudden urge to completely tear it down and start over thoughts???

Haha I've been dealing with the same issue with my hardbody scx10. Can you move the COG down with some weights on the axles? Also do you always carry those spares in back? if so I'd ditch those.

Lol no just had the spares "crawlin tires" just from the last trail ride

Ive got the body as low as possable with out rubbin the body tooo horrable but she sits wayyy to tall could be my poor choice in tire tho

I run trail busters and they are like 4" tall and its still tippy as shit, so I know what you mean lol. Wheel weights maybe?

Im thinkin my losi crawler shocks may have something to do with it

I have to say the truck looks good but anything with bigger tires and taller shocks is going to pretty much equal crappy COG...If it was a mud truck it wouldn't really matter though.

If you want better COG and side hill performance you'll need smaller diameter tires and the stock ride height or slightly lower...and weight added on the axle in the form of upgrades you wouldn't really otherwise need.

Im using the losi comp crawler shocks but limited to 93mm (eye to eye) and angle my shocks down to regain my stock ride height...so I get a little more articulation but don't raise COG to get it.

The bed full of anything obviously does zero for your COG, but you already know that.

Your choice of tires isn't as big of an issue as your body placement.

I guess you're at a crossroads of keeping a stock looking scale body or chopping it up. With those oversized tires you can't have an in tact body and COG.

Smaller tires would better fit a "scale appearance" anyhow.

Smaller tires and get that body a lot lower... It's uber high right now killing your COG.

Or....keep your oversized sneakers and start choppin' up that body and get it lowered down and enough plastic removed and reworked to clear those tires.

Pinching the front and back will allow you to not cut the wheel well openings so much, but if you don't pinch the ends in, you've got a bunch of cutting to do to the wheel openings to get the body lower and keep those tires on there and lower your COG.

Or... You can find a Lexan body and dress that up with a nice paint job and detailing and keep that same body height.

I run the losi shocks on my honcho and they work great . More concerned with performance than scale looks where we run! The shocks are not! your problem , dial in your shocks .

I run a similar setup with the f350 lid and a scx10 chassis. I slammed the lid so the ties are pretty well stuffed most of the time. I also run an almost full droop setup. It dies very well and is very slightly tippy. I also run a spate tire in the bed. The thing that made the biggest difference in mine other than battery location was going to full metal bead lock wheels.

Thats my next upgrade to vp beadlock wheels u had the losi shocks jacked way up to clear the claws but now there is only 1/4" of shaft exposed more of a droop set up man what a difference
