Default Old school dingo and spur gear cover?

So I've got an old school dingo here without a spur gear cover, picked one up but it looks like it won't fit, the back plate of it at least. Any one confirm this and if so what can I do to cover these gears?

I installed it on my old school Honcho. All ok. Everything you need is included in this set

The rear "plate", as you refer to it, replaces the older style 3 spacers between the motor plate and the trans case.

I'm positive the Axial gear cover fits all Axial trans, as I have an original (didn't come with a gear cover) SCX which I installed the gear cover with no modifications.

If your running MIP driveshafts you will need to do minor clearancing of the gear cover to clear the MIP. No big deal though. Other's let it "self clearance", but I'm too OCD for that.

While you have the motor plate off is your opportunity to install some 5x7x.1mm shims on the input shaft under the slipper assembly to reduce the ridiculous amount of back and forth slop that shows up as the spur gear walking halfway off of the pinion gear. I couldn't stand that, other's hardly notice.

Wasn't the gear cover originally a hop up part before they started including them in all the newer kits and RTRs? So yeah all axial scx10/ax10 trans are the same (except the old ones used crappy aluminum out drives)
