Default Homemade bumper mounts?

I've searched and just can't find anything good.

What I am looking for is how people have built front and rear bumper mounts for homemade fabbed bumpers. Materials, design, etc would be great.

I'm not interested in buying bumper mounts: I've made my own f&r tube bumpers and am struggling with the frame mounts. I've tried a few different things and not been happy with any, so I seek the collective's wisdom.

You can use some 1/16" or 20ga sheet steel and make your own, OR use the factory mounts with round stock to mount like the Axial bumpers do...they'd slide in the holes and pin them in.

I always just make some plates that use factory frame holes and hold them on with 3mm hardware. Then weld my bumpers to those.

Good ideas. hotrodvw I am fussing with the idea of using the stock mount with a sleeve for the tube, and warren a piece of plate would be simple and look stock (which I like). Also curious about other ideas....

The down fall of using the stock mount is that it's plastic. If you want to go that route, there are some out there in Aluminum, such as coughIntegycough.
Other than that, I'd bolt it up to the outside of the frame rails.

Get some key stock...I forgot what size but it will.slide right in frame rails...cut to length..drill and tap...or through bolt.

I used some on a bumper build for a buddy for his scx..i put a cross bar in between for strength(axle mounted servo). Check clearances and flex before tacking it in..

I have some oversized 8mm keystock which I think I'll use for the rear bumper, to try and even out the weight distribution a bit. It does slide right into the framerail c-channels.
