I agree, when I got my Rubicon I fought the urge to upgrade things until after I drove it box stock just to get a baseline to start from. Plus it's fun to see what it can do without upgrades!

Make a test course in your yard and practice lines. See what it can do as is with the way you drive and make changes to help with your skills..

Since you got a kit, you already got metal lower links. So get beef tubes, metal gears in transmission and your choice of motor and esc......rock it for a long time

I'll add to this. And when something breaks, get on RCC, search and read about the best upgrade for said broken part

Beadlock wheels... Axial 1.9 8-hole work just fine, or choose other quality ones from RC4wd, VanquishProducts, etc. Unless you're on a tight limited budget, I wouldn't even bother with the glue-on wheel/tire.

Never done a BL system in a scale myself but I do love Tekin. I had the FXr+45T, worked with out any issues and had plunty of WS. This go around I plan to go with a 35T just to see how that rolls on hill climbs.

I like this - build the stock kit with these The above are all solid choices that you won't need to upgrade later. Might not be a bad idea to go with some beadlocks as well - the axial 1.9's harken back to the original rtr

What color(s) are you thinking of painting the body?
