Default Weekend Warrior, Now A F650.

I know I know another Jeep. But it's not a Jk, it's a Tj. I have destroyed my Hilux body, and looking in my LHS they had a Hpi Tj Savage sized body for $25. It fits perfectly...
The body will be painted silver inside, metallic red outside with black fender flares and half roof.
VP trans, with Rpp gears,
Axial beadlocks,
Axial Od/ gears,
Proline Tsl's 4.3",
Hh 35t motor,
Crapptastic Hpi ESC,
Modded 2075,
Traxxas big bore shocks rear,
Stock axial front shocks,
Xr10 rear links, og ax10 front,
12.5" wheelbase,

On to the pics...

And the color...
Still need to paint the roof, going to let the color coat dry before masking and painting the fenders/roof/doors.

Flex, just about perfect...

Looking good so far. Like the links your using.
What LHS did you find the body at now that we have 3.. Blue Ribbon seems pretty sweet with the track and meets. Been out of the hobby a few years but after talking with Brian I've been working on a drift car and have my Rubi now..

Thanks man, picked it up @Hobby Town, new owners are great, even if they don't know much about Rc.
Once I have the body mounted we will have to go crawling, I have Sunday/Thursday's off work.

Sunday sounds good, it will give me time to finish mounting the body, and maybe get some bumpers on.
BR knows the most,TH has the best selection, and TC is in the middle somewhere, from what I have experienced. Between the three, we can pretty much get anything needed.

Extended the rear frame rails, 1.5" longer than stock.

Spare tire mounted, and texture added to the black.

Interior mocked up.
Bumpers next...

One thing I don't like is the molded winch, and really thin lexan in front,my solution(because scale ready's grills are out of stock)...
I might open it up a bit more.
Made from .025 aluminum.

Wow man your kicking @zz today getting her done.. Looking good with the tire and that texture on the black. Did you decide on the tires your going to run? Right now I vote the TSL but will wait to see how your bumpers turn out.

Thanks, yeah got to spend a few hours yesterday and a couple hours today before I go to work. Definitely leaning towards the Tsl's.
Threw some paint on the grill...

The wife is mad at me now for spending so much time on the jeep, going to give her some time before work.

Looks like it is coming together nicely. How did you attach the grill? Double sided tape? You guys are lucky to have 3 hobby shops to choose from. I have only one and they specialize in card games. My vote is for the TSLs. I like mine a lot. I have no experience with the other tires though.

Thankyou , I am not happy with the grill just yet, going to open it up a bit more. Then I will Shoo Goo it in. Roklox used to be the hot comp tire, until pit bull brought out their tires. I will run the Tsl's, and try the roklox later.
We went for a dry spell for a while here as well regarding hobby shops. I bought a lot of stuff online because of that. Support your LHS, and they should support you... If they don't well Rpp and tower hobbies are great.

I opened up the grill a bit, and color matched it, I like it a lot better. The grill winch and bumper are just resting there for now, gotta pick up some small metric hardware to bolt everything together.

Now I'm seeing what your throwing down..lol Grill looks way better then I thought it would but do wonder what it would look like behind the body. It may give it a more real look, maybe. ;) You adding more to the bumper or is that it?

It looks way better, I was playing with the grill placement before work today and discovered this...

As for the bumper, I will run this one Sunday, then build a larger one later.
